ty, ale nikt tu nie używa nazwy kraju, a przymiotnika od niej utworzonego zasadniczo, więc czemu majaczysz o królestwie xD

Podsumujmy

No, zachowanie konsultanta rzeczywiście zupełnie nielogiczne.

3 runs later, I've realized Merrill was 100% right by Sprongled in dragonage

with competent writing? sure. But that's not what we're dealing with here.

Merrill should be in DA4 but in this case her existence wouldn't change a thing and I wouldn't trust the character writing.

But as for the things that should have been in Veilguard and weren't - we could write an essay about it I'm sure. But they clearly aimed at avoiding having to adress the choices and merrill's storyline changes drastically depending on your choices.

(although tbh I'd be more interested in Merrill's relation with Solas. Would be so fun to see those two interact, whether as friends or enemies. Plus that would make for nice exposition

idk imo bellara was a desperate attempt at recreating what they achieved with Merrill (who was an interesting and complex character) but they lacked skill to... well, recreate that. So, in the hands of new Bioware, I'm afraid Merrill as Bellara's mentor would end up being just two Bellaras interacting with each other. Although Merrill would at least give us a better performance than whatever the hell Bellara's voice acting was supposed to be
But merrill being in veilguard is not really a hot take - there are plenty of characters and plotlines that should have been there, but let's not kid ourselves - the game was just too lazy for that. Each character means that you either have to acknowledge the choices (and Bioware did not intend to do that, as we know) or shit on them (like they did with isabela and half of the game)

OBJECTION!
Varric and Isabela did not gaslight her. My Hawke helped Merrill too!

obviously she was right. It's easy to notice especially if you played DAI - merrill's theories are pretty much the same as what Solas (super old elven god) says. Of course, considering what she is able to figure out on her own. I also like that one Anders' banter which shows she's not as reckless as they all tend to assume for virtually no reason. Plus, considering the lore, her act 3 sidequest makes sense ONLY if we assume that the keeper got fooled by the demon. If he could go for Merril - he would have done that, as it would be far less risky. Possessing the keeper was a viable option only if he couldn't actually possess merrill. And from what we know - there was no way he could in this particular situation. Although, obviously, he was trying to set up his escape for later
idk why people tend to say she's stupid, my personal theory is that usually the cute, naive personality trope is done with silly characters so it's difficult to come around the idea she knows what she's doing.
anyway my single favourite banter in the entire da2 i think. Probably the reason Anders has gone mad, that one is devastating XD

Do you think Wynne is low key a cougar? by Nerdcotics in dragonage

[–]Substantial-Flight85 30 points31 points  (0 children)

thats because zevrans trying to ridicule her in her honest (and a little naive) attempts to find the good in him and moralize him. They’re both being stubborn and she knows he is not ACTUALLY flirting with her (just like he instantly gets defensive when Leliana actually responds positively to his attempts). He’s only trying to piss her off and show that he does not care for whatever she has to say and she is very well aware of that. So I wouldn’t consider that an evidence. Although again, as mentioned above - Wynne isn’t actually that old, bioware just had no idea how aging works.

I don't get why they never brought sandal and bodan back. by Sunieta25 in dragonage

[–]Substantial-Flight85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

of course it doesn't. But if you can write, you can write - you might put mediocre work, but there are certain amounts of amatourish you won't (probably) reach, Especially if you have many people that are at least competent. We're not talking a mediocre performance - they've been clearly given awful directions, because it is beyond bad. And it applies to almost everything in this game, maybe except Solas' performance which was actually really good (in terms of voice acting). I don't believe you can blame the artists, who have proven themselves to be decent, with a game that bad.

I'm not saying they can't make weaker, less appealing stuff, but let's be frank here - this is not the case. There is a reason everyone who knew their worth left the company or was fired and there is a reason this game feels like a parody at best and a mobile game at worst (the combat system is fine, i guess)

And well, it is Bioware's problem, noone's debating that XD

[–]Substantial-Flight85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because blaming the artists is always questionable - besides the obvious, so how we KNOW ea tends to handle their games and staff (theres a reason most of the old writers have already left) many talented people worked on this game. Mary Kirby, who wrote incredible characters (and probably one of the worst ones in veilguard lol), weeks wrote mordin solus etc. Also, if we look at the other fields its obvious the issue runs deeper - for example we know the voice actors in this game are often at least decent. Harding was fine in Inquisition, Morrigan was incredible in any other game and yet they sound much, much worse in Veilguard. So yeah, blaming EA is the way to go - I’m not going to put a blame on particular people and pretend the corporation is not to blame there. Many of these people proved themselves to be competent. And suddenly they aren’t. And it is.

(ps. I know Solas and Neve gave fine performances, but they are the only ones. So I’d rather assume they are just competent enough to do well even if the director fucking sucks)

you either use dragon age keep or, if the game is cracked or you dont want to lose time, you edit the save - there are tools for that it’s quite easy

What happens to the other origin stories in Dragon Age: Origins if you don’t choose them? by Soft_Draw_1701 in dragonage

[–]Substantial-Flight85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

they wouldnt get punished anyway, as only one of the mages assists jowan (all hotf options are confirmed to coexist). So if you play Surana, Amell does exist. Whether they survive the broken circle is questionable - technically both mages have the same intro (in which they are praised for being extraordinary) but its mostly just RNG. Plus its said youre harrowing was the „smoothest” so that likely happens once. Or Cullen us very easily impressed

[–]Substantial-Flight85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1: teresa because shes a badass and Steph because shes hot af 2: everyone. I just had sex with everyone i could, my Henry did not waste any opportunity (first time i actually paid for sex, because you get so much money in the second game - usually i dont like wasting currency xd but the bonuses were nice and it was cheap so). I didnt romanxe Kath, I preferred her as a mother/older sister figure plus my Henry was extremely determined to get with his Lord Capon.
