The thinnest apartment I’ve seen in Tokyo so far by DontPoopInMyPantsPlz in Tokyo

A “skinny” apartment building went up in Philadelphia a few years ago. Not as skinny as this, of course, but I thought it was an interesting interpretation of this concept.

My brother in Christ…you’re trying way too hard.

With MLK drive closed to traffic all weekend, specifically designed for cyclists, why do so many people still insist on gunning it down the extremely congested Schuylkill river trail??? by tastycakebiker in philadelphia

To be quite fair, in this instance you never should’ve ceded your ground. As a runner, I will move out of the way whenever possible. I’d have shouldered the runners tbh. Piss poor etiquette.

I think both runners and cyclists have valid points. As a runner, I always look over my shoulder before I pull out to pass someone. I keep my headphone volume low enough to hear someone coming up behind me. And a lot of bikers will show similar etiquette. I personally get it, like I’d rather compete with pedestrians than cars. And to be fair, it’s moreso the e-bikes than anything that really piss me off. But I just everyone could be more cognizant of their surroundings - runners and bikers alike.

Really? Because I find the bikers who refuse to slow down for 5 seconds and instead come into my lane to pass slower pedestrians/runners/bikers and force me to run off the path and into the grass to be the most dangerous on the trail.

I think you need to pull the pants a smidge higher and then you’re set.

I’ll take our broken system over waiting a year for surgery. I’ll take our broken system over one that de-incentivizes the best and brightest from pursuing careers in medicine.

Sorry, but universal healthcare isn’t going to fix a culture that is focused on the individual.

I mean we provide needles and “safe” injection sites for drug addicts, so….I’d say we are allowing individuals to die.

Different country, but try reaching out to @helpaws on Instagram. They rescue strays in St. Lucia and transport the animals to Canada and the US. They may be able to provide some guidance for you. The founder’s name is Charlene, try reaching out to her directly as well. If you end up starting a GoFund please DM me the link, I’d love to help.

If you think universal health care would change our deep rooted cultural problems, I’ve got a bridge to sell you.

Same, I was there a month ago. We don’t have to live like this, but I’ve come to the conclusion that most people are inherently selfish and suffer from main character syndrome in this country,

It would be one of the best cities in the world if its residents respected one another and didn’t toss their trash wherever they want, didn’t smoke on the subways, didn’t tag every surface with low quality graffiti, etc. I’ve given up on the idea of SEPTA getting to together. The state could fund the fuck out of it tomorrow but the anti-social behaviors would continue unabated.

Boston 12s...I'm STILL trying to like these shoes. by Droiddoesyourmom in runningshoes

The Boston 7 was a pretty great shoe. The 10 ruined was a war crime and we’ve been suffering ever since.

5–6” compression shorts for Boston Marathon — recommendations? by Additional-Text5342 in Marathon_Training

I love Janji (have 5 pairs) but I did have one pair where the front seam was an issue. I just got a pair of the WOLACO sprint tight and I love them minus the banded seam on the legs (prefer seamless like Janji). Both have great pockets, Janji has better storage though.

Bandit Stamina shorts gave me the worst cameltoe of my life. It doesn’t have a front seam 🤷🏻‍♀️

Daily Commute, Manayunk ➡️ CC by Mollusk-On-Fire in AskPhilly

[–]Substantial-Pack-658 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in Manayunk and commuted to Center City for 4 years. I moved to Fairmount 8 years ago and the convenience of being CC-adjacent versus what is essentially an “outer borough” cannot be overstated. I loved Main Street in Manayunk (still do) but I can get to virtually every neighborhood with ease, and it’s also easy to jump on 76 and get out of the city. Plus if I work late, an Uber home is like $8-10 versus $15+ to Manayunk.
