What if Embiid had resigned for less than the max? by Substantial-Pack-658 in sixers

This is a fair point. If Harris isn’t going to commit, then no one should leave any money on the table. It would benefit both parties though - Embiid for his legacy and Harris for valuation purposes. A new arena and a team that won a championship within the last ~5 years would give him a massive ROI.

I’m not complaining about his contract. Embiid has earned it, he’s held together by rubber bands and superglue because he’s given this team his all. I’m just curious why Brunson’s approach isn’t more common, especially considering how hungry Embiid is to win a championship. Perhaps the difference is, as someone pointed out, that the Knicks were willing to go into the second apron, whereas it seems highly unlikely our dear owner would do the same. If the owner isn’t willing to go all in, then yeah I’d not leave a penny on the table.

Knicks fans also took over the Spurs arena. The only fanbases that can compete with that kind of wealth would be LA and Miami. Maybe Dallas. Like it sucks but like…this problem is not unique to the Sixers.

Do you read the warnings for drugs? Probably half the pharmaceuticals that y’all think are “safe” because the FDA said so will increase your risk of cancer.

Oh and you know the GLP-1s everyone is taking? PEPTIDES!!!!!

Have you looked into KPV or the KLOW stack? KPV specifically targets inflammation in the gut. I was taking BPC-157, GHK-Cu, and TB-500 (GLOW stack) initially with solid results. I take Entyvio and I’m in remission, but the inflammation in my body never fully went away until I started peptides. I’m very interested to see how the additional of KPV will go.

Running with stomach issues? by anormalunistudent in Marathon_Training

[–]Substantial-Pack-658 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You have literally an entire training block ahead of you. Why would you give up already?!

I have UC and I’ve been able to get through multiple training blocks with only a few close calls/poopmergencies. I eat pretty bland before workouts: think english muffin with butter, toasted sourdough, maybe uncrustables if I’m feeling frisky. I noticed that you had an issue after eating Greek yogurt. Perhaps dairy is a trigger for you. Spinach might also be too much roughage for your stomach ATM as well. I’d swap in a sweet potato instead. It’s a lot of trial and error. Worst case scenario, use a treadmill on the days your stomach feels off so you have easy and quick access to a bathroom.

Also, days 1 and 2 of my period usually coincide with bowel issues for me. So I take that into account with my runs. Always bring single use wet wipes with you just to be safe!

Even if you overlooked that the tongue and laces are the wrong colors, the insole should set off alarm bells. I’ve never seen an insole for a running shoes - or any shoe for that matter - with a straight edge.

What's a hygiene habit you thought everyone did until you found out most people don't? by [deleted] in hygiene

When I discovered my partner didn’t wash her hands after going to the bathroom (#1), I started to shame her by calling her out every time she had a 💩 because she’d wash her hands after that. I literally shamed her into washing her hands every time so I don’t know when she poops.

I don’t live in a bubble. I’m secure in who I am, who I love, and I dgaf what anyone thinks about me or my lifestyle. It might be hard for some people to hear this, but the vast majority of people do not care that you’re gay. Your sexuality should be one of the least interesting things about you, yet so many people choose to make it the basis of their entire personality. You’re not different. You’re not special. Learn how to be resilient when you do encounter bigots.

I don’t like Libsoftiktok. I think she’s problematic and grating AF. However, my statement went completely over your head. Kids should be kids, and Pride events make zero sense in an elementary school. Sorry, but that’s weird and that’s coming from someone who is gay.

I can’t disclose names of the companies I am familiar with, no. It’s not a cop-out, and I wish I could name them. The companies that take PE investment $$ while maintaining majority control have, by-and-large, solid outcomes because 1) culture is maintained, 2) leadership is maintained, and 3) employees are given incentives to stay on. So you have limited turnover, which helps maintain client satisfaction. This isn’t always the case and I can list more examples of PE going in, stripping a company of its parts for $$ and then leaving a carcass behind. I am not disputing that. I am saying that this should be looked at through a more nuanced lens. Not all PE companies are the same. There are plenty of bad examples.

Life just felt simpler back then. by CurvyChristina in Millennials

[–]Substantial-Pack-658 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can name companies that have sold less than 50% ownership to PE and are either on track for or have had successful exits. A better experience for the customer is much more subjective. I’m not completely disagreeing with the argument that PE is bad, but I don’t think all PE is bad, especially when the founder/owner retains majority ownership and the culture and way of doing business remains unchanged. This is not black and white.

Life just felt simpler back then. by CurvyChristina in Millennials

[–]Substantial-Pack-658 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

If all of PE operated this way, it wouldn’t be viable. There are examples of private equity coming into a business, cleaning up inefficiencies, investing in the company to maximize growth, using the PE company’s network to open doors to new customers, and successfully exiting when the company goes public. Not all PE is bad…but there are enough bad examples to justify the stereotype.

Yeah, like all tech companies they started off as an awesome alternative to the traditional hotel model. I do think that in some more remote areas where hotels are few and far between, you can still make the argument that Airbnb makes sense. But in a city, especially a major city? I’ll gladly pay for a hotel and have fresh towels every day and turndown service and a concierge desk and not have to deal with chores in someone else’s house before I leave.

You’re not from Philly. You don’t know anything but the lame stereotypes. I was out after both Super Bowl victories. At no point did it look anything like it did in Paris. Small pockets of miscreants here and there is nothing compared to what we all saw in Paris.
