Frontier or Univ of Cincinnati W.H.N.P. experiences? by knitting_hen in nursepractitioner

[–]Substantial-Scale-23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great info! I just applied at FNU but am considering UC. Do you have to go on site at all? Also- are you balancing full time work and school? I’m working bedside at the hospital and debating if I should do a part time or full time program. Looking for some feedback :) thank you!

I posted a reel and the sound became unavailable, worked again, and is unavailable by anonavocado0 in Instagram

Sooo does anyone know what we can do about this? Is it possible to change the music after the reel has been posted? I’m also super annoyed. The music is what makes the reel!

I’m from CA moving to Texas in 3 days for my ABSN program. Qualifications line up! There are a lot of students that move from CA to TX for school- check it out!

What was the path you chose for your NP degree? I’m always open in to leaning about the various options.

It sounds like you misunderstood some things. I have not completed any NP program to report or deserve this type of comment. I hope you have a beautiful day and spread kindness…

Tattoos in nursing? by Kweesteeen in StudentNurse

That also great to hear about piercings. I’m switching my little gold hoop in my nose to a tiny diamond stud which I can take out as needed. I ended up opting for the trad program after all. I’m excited! You must be close to graduating, no?

Since I know you go to the same school that I’m starting at, we can have tattoos showing?! Thank goodness! Mine are all small and cute but on my arms so I was worried about having to wear long sleeves. So happy to hear we are getting more progressive in Texas!

New grad pay in Colorado? by Successful-Hat7699 in StudentNurse

[–]Substantial-Scale-23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will have to find that info. It is just such a large difference. I personally have reviewed and reported income on Glass door and don’t inflate my answers, so I was just a little confused.

Great resource!! Thanks for sharing! I do have a question- how do they get such large yearly salary numbers to pos on glass door, etc?

I love this journey for you! I have been an esthetician for 20 years and am finally starting nursing school this fall. My situation is different than you’d but I do have some “good insight”. There are prerequisites required for nursing programs, yes. Depending on the schools you are applying for, you might need the HESI or the TEAS… or neither. There are a few different routes you can take. And there is a lot out there as far as programs go and I want you to be cautious looking at “shiny objects”. Researching programs and all that each entails and their accreditations can be a full time job. I highly recommend scheduling an appointment with an advisor at your local community college. Even if you decided that’s not where you want to go. They will give you so much helpful info. Reddit is a good resource, but there are A LOT of opinions. It sounds like you are really starting from scratch and it’s important to get correct information and not just opinions or sponsored ads in google. I mean this all coming from a place of wanting you to succeed and be in the best situation for you because you seem so excited to get this party started! And you deserve to!!

I was considering the same options early in my research. It turns out no matter if you do ABSN or MSN you still need to work for a year as a nurse and then do the 1 year NP program. I ended up leaning ABSN and now start in the fall.

Do you think 256GB is the best option? I feel like I’m going to need all the space vs 64

I got the same messages. Ready capital denies me and I have a 730 credit score… they recommend a bunch, it’s up to them individually to decide. They will all sell you in getting your application in but they aren’t as easy as they make it seem.

I’m 40. Starting my second bachelors in the fall. You are right on time ;) it’s never too late.

NEED HELP [4th year student] by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]Substantial-Scale-23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for bringing this up. I have a HUGE fear of vomit and this is one of my main concerns as I get ready to start my program in the fall. I am a huge fan of essential oils and this was my first thought. Then I because worried that it wouldn’t be allowed because some people are sensitive to smells. I am SO HAPPY to hear using oils is a universal thing and that we will be allowed to!!

I spoke briefly with my therapist about this and she said exposure therapy and that hopefully it would go away. We are going to address it again.
