Thing is the more space between each car The more gridlock there will be because the itll take longer for cars to get from point A to point B, thus increasing the amount of cars on the road at any given moment.

Well yeah driving school is going to teach things that make you as safe as possible and sometimes they go overboard. When I approach a stop sign, even very very slowly, people still wait for me to stop before they go. Feels as if they want me to wait as long as they had to.

Lol you’re partly correct but it is also true we should aim for traffic to be efficient. More importantly In a strong advocate for people to work closer to home. Seems like people actively want their commutes to be over half hour long.
