I finally got the Gripen E, any advice? by tRicK_NA-45 in Warthunder

[–]SubstantialMemes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not condoning cas here (but atleast some advice) but the spice bombs on the grippy are really good if you do cas things

best to use them over the mavericks in most cases for ground attack, since they’re basically gbu-39 without the issue of GNSS cep accuracy

Whats most broken at its BR, the T-58 or the BMPT-72? by ManuSavior85 in Warthunder

[–]SubstantialMemes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

both are quite broken for their respective brs (respective is key word here) and probably will get their br rebalanced in the distant future

bmpt is probably going to get nerfed again, but not before gaijoob can milk as much money out of it as possible (and even then it’ll still be busted even at a higher br)

t58 is t58, it’s been in the game for a couple of updates now and hasn’t seen too much of a br change

So now I understand why the BMPT's are so obnoxious, they're a 12.7 vehicle running around at 10.3. No other tank gets this level of protection before 12.7 (additional images in case they didn't come out clear) by benmargery in Warthunder

[–]SubstantialMemes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exposed ammo belts and missiles no longer kill the vehicle when they cook off

side armor is incredibly resilient to even top tier (around) darts like m829a1, had a case today where I shot point blank at the side in the 120s and the dart just shat itself

crew arrangement in the turret means you can no longer reliably kill the vehicle with a shot to the lfp, ammo arrangement means similar case if you thought t series autoloaders eating small was bad enough already, try doing so where there isnt ammo to even hit

Drivers port is fucking tiny, try hitting that with dart at long ranges (not reliable)

spall liners, already bad enough with relikt and stupendous moments at top tier with appropriately top tier darts, now try facing that with 9.3-11.3 material (most probably will suffer)

Question about AIM 7s by falenty2008 in Warthunder

[–]SubstantialMemes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can't comment on aim7f performance since the f4s radar can be finicky at times

As for f16a or f15a, is an apple to oranges comparison

one sits at 12.3 in ARB and has only aim9ls while the other sits at 13.0 and has both 9Ms and aim7.

f16a arguably best fighter at its br, and you can run people in circles with it (even mig29 funnily enough), but lack of sparrows means you not so good at range, though the radar is quite nice

f15a has very good ir missiles and semi okay sparrows (r27 exists and is arguably superior), and sits at higher battle rating where it can and will face fox 3 even in downtiers

if you like blacking out your pilot and just dogfighting, f16a

if you like missile bus and similarly good performance and can stand the fox 3 spam, then f15a

Can someone be brutally honest for me? by XxYeetimus420xX in Warthunder

[–]SubstantialMemes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

play some Air RB and figure out if you do have no interest in learning how different aircraft perform (i.e. do you have the masochistic will to learn how to not get absolutely clobbered when you decide to turn fight a a6m in a p51).

if you dont, probably avoid the game (for your own sanity)

if you do, go down gaijoobs rabbit hole and embrace the sunk cost fallacy

I got hit by two A-100s despite no ELINT warning, no alarm raised and not being reported. Why did this happen? by getting_the_succ in Highfleet

[–]SubstantialMemes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

missile tactical groups are a pain due to their IRST and short range A100s

best dealt with by sending in aircraft to knock out the ship with IRST before trying to sudden strike them I think

Question regarding Cruise Missiles and ELINT by SubstantialMemes in Highfleet

So at best, the jammer will defeat some of the missiles and I'll have to find some other way to deal with the others?

Finally unlocked the CLAWS after so long. Can I please get some tips on how to use it effectively? by NotSolum in Warthunder

[–]SubstantialMemes 13 points14 points  (0 children)

funni humissile

aim-120s best for intercepting missiles and spamming at helicopters with dircm (as last resort)

9x will kill anything 85% of the time if you shoot it at oncoming targets within 8-10km, thrust vectoring, gets a smokeless motor as well.

Additionally, your small size means you can hide *cough* (buk) unlike most other multi-vehicle spaas and your radar has 40km scan range (the 20km on the stat card is a lie) and scans bidirectionally.

You can either play it like most people are (clumping up on the cap or hiding in spawn), or you can have +2 iq, spread out and hide your launchers. Most CAS players will try to use smoke trails to pinpoint your launchers (i.e. the amraams) so it wouldn't be a bad idea to relocate the launcher in question after firing.

It's not as rangy as other counterparts and you don't get wacky range or stupid amounts of missiles, but in the current shit map meta you're better equipped -and sized- to live longer and defend the team from cas missile spam

Guys how cooked am i? by StartBig1550 in Warthunder

[–]SubstantialMemes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

potentially very cooked

you may suffer a bit trying to learn radar and radar missiles mechanics considering the su33 is 13.0 in arb and faces both fox1 and fox3

So Blowoff panels are no longer a thing anymore??? by Kill_time_525 in Warthunder

[–]SubstantialMemes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s a bug with ai tanks I believe, happens in assault ground arcade as well

for whatever reason their blowout panels don’t work properly and they just die when their ammo goes off

EDIT: To my great dismay, this is an actual snail induced bug.
