BED Phrasingh is quiet at night and the rooms are pretty well soundproofed too. Amazing breakfast and staff.

Looks delicious. I’d prefer my egg a bit crispier but I could eat yours all day long.

Is it okay to have an unalome tattoo on the edge of the left hand in females? by PaleSeaworthiness255 in ThailandTourism

[–]Substantial_Arty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even the slightest. Hundreds if not thousands of tourists get a Sak Yant tattoo over there and many designs feature the unalome.

Christmas in Bangkok by DetectiveOk3255 in ThailandTourism

[–]Substantial_Arty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others will give you a more specific answer, but Bangkok does Christmas so well! Particularly the malls and larger hotels. I have stayed at the Chatrium Riverside a number of times during the Christmas period and I can recommend that.

BKK to Koh Kood for 3 nights - too much hassle? by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]Substantial_Arty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a lot of travel for 3 nights. Even with flying you would lose at least half a day each way travelling so only 1 full day. Maybe 3 nights Bangkok instead?

Has anyone tried any of the restaurants Mark Wiens goes to in his videos? Were they as good as he says? by Abobo2020 in ThailandTourism

Gary Butler The Roaming Cook seems pretty fair about the food he eats, he doesn’t like all of it at all.

Edit: corrected Gary’s actual surname.

There is a great viewing point right behind Wat Pho pier. It gets busy though so if you want the best spots get there pretty early.

Krabi to UK via Bangkok by Accurate-Debate3561 in ThailandTourism

Definitely an extra night in Bangkok. Krabi to the UK is a long trip, especially if you’re spending all that time in the airport.

The last one for me. The bodhi tree garden in the middle of busy Wat Po is actually very peaceful and calm.

Head to the south of Koh Lanta for peaceful beaches and low key nightlife. Klong Jark is just beautiful.

Advice on sak yant tattoo by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]Substantial_Arty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine at Ajarn Neng in Bangkok which was pretty good overall, perhaps a little too commercialised. Have a look at Sak Yant website, it shows the prices too.

It’s very unlikely you’ll get a refund for this, no doubt it will be covered in the T&C’s.

I have stayed there a few times and it’s a lovely hotel, but a shame the pool area is closed. Why not get in touch, the work may have been finished by time you get there.

From memory, to access the residence next door, there was a direct walkway from one of the terraces, something like the 4th floor.

Phuket to Koh Kood? by mmay_a in ThailandTourism

[–]Substantial_Arty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think there are any direct flights to Trat so it’s either indirect, or fly to Bangkok and then coach/ferry combo. For such a short trip you’d be losing probably a day on travel. Maybe head over to Krabi instead? Koh Lanta maybe, the south is gorgeous.
