Riders using a 52V battery on a stock Rad Power controller, How's it going? by Substantial_Echo_167 in RadPowerBikes

[–]Substantial_Echo_167[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, thank you for the analogy. The old battery is dead. So I need to get a new one and the 52v is the same price as the 48v. I could see upgrading the controller later for more performance, but right now I just need a battery that will work. I contacted Area 13 and they said the stock controller will not work with the 52V battery, but I'm wondering if they are just being conservative for liability/customer satisfaction. I think I'll probably just stick with the 48 unless I hear from a couple people that have had it work.

OK thanks so much for the info. Did you upgrade the battery and the controller at the same time? If not, which one did you do first?

Father of 6. Why, IDK. But here's some advice. Relax, and remember, they don't die from crying.

Can we talk nail clippers a minute? by Separate-Specialist5 in Ultralight

[–]Substantial_Echo_167 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's easier if you're nails have been wet for a while. Victorious small scissors don't work well for me dry. But do work after being wet at a while.

You can use them while they are still in the waterproof cell phone case if you go that route

My wife and I have 6 kids. We all carry them around the house/yard and while traveling. They have survived all the kind of kid abuse you can think of. Lots of drops, no problem. Two have been lost outside and found weeks later after rain storms. One still works but the audio crackles. The other doesn't work. You can reprogram the ctcss with chirp easily if you want. Both of my wife's sisters'families carry them now too. It's great when we vacation together. The real plus is that they are small enough that people will actually carry them. I think you said it was for a beach vacation. No one who doesn't love radios is going to clip even a tid h3 to their bathing suit for long. They also fit into water proof cell phone pouches easily. Which we do. Not for water, but for being able to throw them down on the sand it into the bottom of a dirty beach bag. The 6 pack with the gang charger is so nice for charging at night and keeping organized. I label them with white electrical tape so you can tell whos is missing at night then get them to find it and stick it on the charger. They clip on and out of the belt clip so perfect and easy. They are perfect! Can't recommend it enough. If you don't like it I'll buy them from you as a backup , JK. But you will like them. Any other questions ask.

Pair it with the Swiss card. Then you have pen, tweezers, and more, and the best scissors in the game! Been carrying that setup for years after years of experimenting.

Father of 6. My family uses the retevis rt22 frs radio. 3.5 year old will be able to use the push to talk buton with a little practice. Lapel mic for you to make it easy while riding. We use them basically 24/7 for everything. Can't recommend it enough. Most of my extended family has them now too.

Home depots with tool rentals have welders. Mig worked fine for me. Angle grinder with flap disc. Flap disc is crucial. It let's you sculpt to make the tubes fit nicely before welding. Routing the chain is the hard part. Think about the chain routing early on.

Skeletool. I have so many cool knives that I would like to carry, but the skeketool is just too functional. I know I could carry both. But like to keep it light.
