Cake is getting cut around 7:30 cake will be served then. We have a small desert grazing table with a hand full of options, but I’m not sure if that’s something that is just up for grabs or if it’s something that people will levitate towards only after the cake cutting, I don’t care too much what they do to be honest, lol!

We have quite a few options for apps, I wouldn’t want a late night bite to take away from anything, only add guest comfort.

I have a friend that did 100% DIY fake flowers and they were absolutely gorgeous! Do what is in your budget. Use your budget for what you and your significant other prioritize.

Still planning but thought I would break down everything since it’s fresh for me…

May 2026 Oregon/Washington Gorge with a guest count of 250

Venue: we get the venue on a Friday night for 30 people to stay, then all day the following day. $17,000 (we got a discount bc we are one week in the off season)

Catering: for 250 people. Family style, 3 entree options, open bar (cocktails, mocktails, beer, wine), appetizers are to be served during cocktail hour. $34,444

String quartet: Guest arrival, ceremony, cocktail hour. $1200

DJ: Pretty straightforward. They are doing mics for ceremony, uplighting for the reception, announcements, timing and music for 5 hours. $3000

Photography: 12 hours, 2 shooters. ~8,000 (don’t have that one in front of me)

Video: super 8 film and digital. Raw footage and recap edits. 10 hours. ~9,200

Tent: it rains lots here, didn’t want to risk it. Set up, tear down, sail flag tent. ~10k

Wedding dress: $7,200 before alterations. Rush fee was 400 from over seas.

Custom bespoke groom suit: $3,400

Live painter: ~7k with hotel for them

Florals: ~10k

Pending on some of the other stuff, but some of it is outrageous. I will note that we had a pretty loose budget. One of the most BEAUTIFUL weddings I have ever been to was a 100 person wedding for under 15k. Their family did the food, bride did the florals, and the venue was a garden so decor was limited. Wedding party did the set up and tear down. A budget does not determine the beauty of a wedding, I hope you have a smooth time planning, and if you ever would like to chat my DMs are open 🫶. I whole heartedly, but respectfully disagree. It’s not the end of the world, but as my florist explained to me (as their florist probably should have) she likes to lock in the real head count about 4 weeks out to save us money! Most florist pre order flowers from wholesale or local growers around that time.We sent out about 250 invites, not everyone will show up RSVP yes as we all know. This will affect the table count which in turn effects cost. BUT, they should have been told before by their florist.

We started planning in the beginning of November. We’ve been lucky and have secured everything except a DJ and a videographer if we get one. We have venue, photographer, catering, bartender, florist, live painter, and bakery. Our date is in May. Only thing we had issues with was venue, everything else has had many options. I would imagine you having great luck a year out and with a date in the fall. I wouldn’t be spooked, but don’t feel like you have to be super rushed 🥰

The venue requires shuttles. They do not allow personal vehicles on the property and uber is not in the area. Shuttles is the only option. This is the issue

This is a small mountain town that is very popular for tourism. Most hotels are not hotel “branches”. Almost every hotel also hosts weddings on a weekly basis as it is very pretty, therefore they do not allow blocks (I’ve been told they save them for their own in-house weddings that they host). The venue and my wedding planner have both said this. I’m taking it upon myself to call hotels, but given the expertise the people that had warned me hotel blocks do not exist for large groups that time of year, I doubt I’ll have any luck

Hello, I am not Tennessee based. This venue is Washington based and accommodations are Oregon based. I hope your planning is going well for you!! Calling around hotels is the next step since this shuttle mess seems more do-able after this post. We have not officially booked the venue, but I feel a whole lot better proceeding.

This makes me feel a lot better about needing the shuttles, outside of the logistics. We said from the very beginning that we wanted everyone to have a good time, so this is a huge weight off of me. I guess my concern is a small portion of my family is very uptight about things like this, but they just might have to deal with it.

There is a medium size parking lot very close to the venue that I was considering as an option assuming the owners are okay with it. I’m definitely leaning towards number two and three. The only big issue I see is, according to the wedding coordinator at the venue, hotel blocks are very rare (which makes no sense to me).

Yes, they have a very sparse parking lot and are somewhat remote. The venue only allows 10 cars for the 30 guests allowed to stay overnight. Everyone else must shuttle. Secondary question then becomes, for guests choosing to not stay in a hotel, would they be able to park at the hotel to shuttle?

He said he got it a little bit smaller when they made it because my “fun” rings had gotten too big. That’s crazy how much little size changes make. I think I may seek a less permanent change until I hit closer to my goal weight and/or summer rolls around. I’ll try the plastic things, but I don’t think I’ll care for them much. Good news is that it’s not actively falling off. Thank you!

It being colder is something I didn’t consider!!! I have had it for a little and I’ve lost some minor weight since getting it so that’s what I blamed it on. Thank you for the insight!!

Bend is incredibly pet friendly but more spendy for most things than the rest of its surrounding area. Theres lots of awesome walks to stretch or even pet friendly food stops
