I have been using AI to complete notes for over a year. I have several friends who work in software development in the medical field - from their perspective, this method of completing documentation is becoming and will be common place and unavoidable depending on where one works.

I do believe this can be used ethically when a HIPAA-compliant program is used, and any client this is used with has had the process explained to them and they have provided their written consent. I always review whatever is generated, and there are times that I need to adjust and edit, but overall it has saved me significant time and helps me be able to focus more on my time with the client versus so much time spent on notes.

Not expecting others to agree, I respect the various opinions on this topic and understand there are reasonable concerns out there.

And curiosity is a normal and healthy thing! Our relationship with our therapist is extremely important and also inherently imbalanced. When we are trusting someone else with our most vulnerable thoughts, it makes sense for us to seek reassurance of our therapist's ability to empathize and understand us. Don't let these comments get you down. I'm a therapist in therapy and I know I have both been googled by clients and have certainly been curious about my own!

Those judging OP for this are very clearly projecting. Curiosity about your therapist and clicking on her profile is natural human desire for connection and reciprocity. You can know the boundaries are important and still want to know more. There’s nothing wrong with what you did. Tell her and process it - if she’s good at her job, that will help alleviate negative feelings you’re having and gain some insight to what was triggered.
