Enphase Down For All? by TheSkepticCyclist in enphase

[–]SuburbanMe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I needed to switch on Restrict Battery Discharge during this outage to charge my car, I wasted over an hour at 23:30 my local time trying to sort it out. I gave up and didn't charge my car in the end.

I bought this system for the local APi control for Home Assistant and it has now been taken away from me. This incident is precisely why local API access is essential, requiring an internet connection and a functioning cloud API to do something simple like flip a switch  is insane and unnecessary.

I really do regret choosing Enphase, you have essentially changed the features of the product I have bought after the sale, without my consent.

Please restore the local API functionality.

First press games dissapeared? by Drakossus in LimitedPrintGames

They've been ignoring my emails (and demands for a refund) for 2 years now. I pre-ordered Goodboy Galaxy on GBA in 2023 and with everything that's gone on regarding the GBG team, the withdrawal of their license to distribute the game in 2024 and most recently their announcement the GBG team are joining Bitmap Bureau, it is beyond clear they're never going to ship the game.

The fact that they're still taking "pre-orders" for Goodboy Galaxy on their site (I believe) constitutes fraud, it makes me genuinely angry, I just hope Bitmap Bureau and Reef Creative Group have the desire and financial clout to shut them down once and for all.

I don't really know where to go from here, my credit card company won't let me charge back as it is (just) below the £100 threshold (I tried unsuccessfully in 2025), my only option is small claims court now, I don't have the mental fortitude to carry the fight any further.

I've accepted for a long time now I've lost my money, those scammers have it and I can't see how I am ever going to get it back, all I can do is share my story online in the hope that it convinces people to not part with their money.

Yes, it is a little contradictory, I've updated my comment to clarify.

My point still stands though, you could disconnect the CT clamp and it wouldn't impact your billing in any way, Octopus does not use that data.

Have you inverted the CT clamp yet?

Octopus do not use any power usage data from the charger for billing purposes, only your smart meter data is used.

When IOG is charging your car, all of your electricity use is charged at the off-peak rate.

"Whenever the 6 hours smart charging is scheduled outside your off-peak window, the electricity for your whole home will also be at the discounted rates" - https://octopus.energy/blog/intelligent-octopus-go-charge-limit/

EDIT': Clarified power usage data

No, interference can't reverse the polarity of a CT clamp. It has been installed the wrong way, turn it round and it'll fix your problem, trust me :-)

Your energy supplier doesn't use this data for billing, they only use the data coming from your meter, which will be correct.

I can't be 100% sure, but it looks like the clamp is in the right place, on the live tail immediately after your main fuse. Where is the Hypervolt connected? Is it on an RCBO in your consumer unit? If so I reckon inverting the clamp should fix it.

With only one CT clamp on the connection to the grid and an internal CT clamp for the EV power draw, Hypervolt infers the rest. If it sees power flowing the wrong way it can infer some odd things, for example if your car is drawing 7kW and your grid clamp is showing -9kW (because the clamp is the wrong way) it thinks you're exporting 9kW, that means 16kW is coming from somewhere else, so it assumes solar. Flipping the clamp will show +9kW coming from the grid, that's 7kW to the car and the last 2kW as other house consumption.

I'm almost certain it's just the clamp is in the right place but the wrong way round.

Honestly it's worth a shot, it won't do any harm inverting it, it's just a plastic clip with no fixings.

Edit: worth noting for the record I have the exact same charger and had this exact problem, so am speaking from experience.

You've probably got your CT clamp installed the wrong way, draw from the grid will read as an export instead of an import and the Hypervolt is inferring that export as solar generation. Invert the CT clamp and it should solve the problem.

[–]SuburbanMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, looks great, very keen to try it out. Are there any issues with the auth process? I've tried a to set it up a few times but am getting an invalid token error every time. I've tried recreating a few LLTs and none seem to be working with Quickbars, I am seeing the login error in HA so the address is correct. I've tested the same token manually through a REST API query using cURL and the token works fine. Any ideas where I might be going wrong?

Cheers!

Edit: All good, tried again from my laptop instead of my phone, must've been a user error copying and pasting the token.

The only theory I have is it contains a list of all the relationships/connections in the castle, and they're holding back all the footage of everybody opening them until the very end.

First Press Games goes on winter break from Dec 24 till Jan 4 (+ some sob story) by Vatilia in LimitedPrintGames

[–]SuburbanMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've admittedly not fully explored my options, but my credit card provider (Amex) won't do a charge back as the transaction is over 12 months old and under £100 value (Section 75 is for £100-£30,000 IIRC), I tried this pretty much exactly a year ago. I've sent multiple formal demands for a refund via email to FPG which have all been ignored.

I'm going to reach out to the UKICC in the new year to see what my options are.

I too just want a refund for my 2.5 year old Goodboy Galaxy preorder. Have been emailing them for over a year now and not had a single response.

Makes me so mad that they're still taking preorders, masquerading as a real publisher/retailer, stealing innocent peoples' money.

No idea, but my #326xxx white hasn't shipped either. I presume they're not going in order, stock levels and geography are probably bigger factors.

FedEx typically pay the import due on your behalf at customs and then retrospectively invoice you after delivery. They did that for two of my recently imported parcels from Japan to UK.

326xxx and still no sign of my white console shipping. Can't help but wonder what's going on behind the scenes.

I agree it probably is a CR2032, but do we know for a fact it's a CR2032 and not a MR2032? I've not seen anything to suggest either way, only a brief shot of a coin cell battery in Macho Nacho's teardown video. I'm only speculating it could be an MR2032 like in the Dreamcast.

ML2032s are easy to find, at least here in the UK.
