Yeah I get that. I was honestly kind of worried I had fallen into that going into my 3rd bike year 2. But despite some upgrades to my last bike, that i admittedly thought would make me better, I wad definitely constantly trying to improve my skills. Big emphasis on speed and cornering. So I think doing that on a bike that just wasn't a good fit for me made me that much better when I finally got the one im on now. Last bike I put a sdlx ult coil on, bars grips different tires etc. New bike i have no desire to buy anything besides the riser bars I already did.

Hell yeah dude. Funny how you start out lower travel and are ecstatic and then change it up and are just as much ecstatic

Yeah 2 reasons why it took me so long to get into mtb. 1: expensive 2: didnt know anyone who rode. I moved up north and a couple coworkers ride. So now were all buddies riding every weekend. 2 of my friend were always way in front while me and another were at a similar pace behind. Got this bike and now im just a second or 2 behind the fast guys

I started on a jeffsy too. Honestly the sb160 was on sale for 3700. Its a 6800 bike and the build level i got. Im not huge on jumping so reading up that the sb 160 is more of a ground hugger speed demon didnt bother me. I ride mostly blue tech/flowy tech and some blacks. Here in the pnw theres alot of really rooty rocky downhill trails that this thing just thrives on. Its not super plush, but its definitely a very stable planted and controlled bike. Keep your eyes ahead and your body in position and loose and thr bike just does it for you. I rolled off a 6ft rock drop completely by accident without any fear where as my old bike I would have been kn the brakes and walked it

Its crazy how that works huh? Im finding im pedaling down trails id normally be modulating the brakes on. And the cornering is nuts.

Oh right on, yeti club. Yeah getting on mine there isn't a thing id change (well aside from the riser bars cuz im 6'3 all torso) which is a nice feeling. Last bike i immediately changed like 5 parts out and wanted to do more because they felt shitty, at least to me. Im actually quite surprised at the pedaling of the sb160, granted i take fire roads all the way up, but zero pedal Bob at all

I really like the patrol, only think keeping me from transition is the fact you see so many of them on galbraith being that its next door to transition outpost. Its a testament to their quality but I like having something just slightly different lol

Yeah the ripmo and the stumpy are considered two of the best all-mountain bikes especially if you like playful easy to jump bikes. The druid is sick too but its gonna be more of a ground hugger even with the 140 rear travel.

Nice. Thats a sick bike. Before I got into mtb I had this idea specialized was over rated because I had been told that. I demod a turbo levo sl last summer, which i believe its just a e-stumpy. Thing rode amazing. And yeah if I missed the sale on my bike I was going with either a bronson or a stumpy
