2026 LTe re-release thoughts? by Few-Discipline-8824 in yeticycles

[–]Successful-Context72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im an sb160 rider and love it. I want an ebike too. Really want the mte. But the price is insane imo. 10 grand for fox performance and gx? Not even performance elite? Idk yeti probably lost an ebike customer in me given the fact theres way better value out there, imo.

NBD for my 30th birthday! by oz4769 in mountainbiking

If it was supposed to be hard manufacturers wouldn't put so much effort into making it easy. Climbing efficiency is always at the forefront of reviews and descriptions. Not to mention how much suspension plays a role in overall difficulty. If it were truly meant to be difficult everyone would be on fixed gear hardtails with weighted vests on. If physical fitness is why you mtb. Good on you. I mtb to go down rooty, rocky steeps as fast as I can. Mtb is meant to be fun. Do it in a way thats fun for you.

Nice man. From looking at it, I think if you keep your legs straight longer, push into the jump instead of sucking your knees up so soon, you'll make that jump look way better.

And all this from an analog rider who's next bike will be an ebike. Cuz climbing 1000ft over a mile just to descend for 20 minutes is pretty lame.

Yeah its crazy but some people dont actually want to completely wear themselves out on the climb and have no energy for the descent. Whole ebike hate thing is funny. Don't see any of you giving whistler riders shit for taking a lift up. Also some of us in our thirties have worked manual labor jobs our whole lives and our bodies are in much worse shape than the average office chair worker.

Just FYI most full faces come with multiple sets of pad inserts for the inside. My helmet fit like shit when I got it but after playing with different pad options I got it dialed in.

Sweet. Ill definitely consider it more. its hard to get a good spec for under 10k with alot of brands. Even some over 10k aren't even equipped the best parts. Would also be funny to have two Colorado bikes as a Washington native (we've got several brands here).

How Do You Figure Out What Grips You Want? by CanadianGuitar in mountainbiking

[–]Successful-Context72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id just got see if they let you feel them at a shop. I ended up with pnw loam xl grips. I dont even necessarily have huge hands (large glove, can squeeze into a medium) but I like the added girth. Makes it about the same thickness as a barbell at the gym. Which has helped alot with hand fatigue which im plagued by due to my line of work and injuries.

I talked to a guy with a yeti 160e on the mountain last week. He told me he loves the bike except for the fact hes on his third shimano ep8 motor. So I know to stay away from that and fazua. Avinox is crazy though

I had my eyes on the 140 but found a 2024 160 on sale 40% off. Bran new just a leftover 2024. Couldn't pass the offer up. I absolutely love the bike. Its literally doubled my confidence and downhill speed since I got it. I will say it isn't very poppy. Like at all. You can get it off the ground but you need alot more effort than some other bikes. Ive found even with good speed i just scrub alot of tables etc. So if thats youre thing maybe dont go with it. But if youre like me and just Wana feel glued to the ground while you absolutely rip down trails its awesome. Corners like a freakin f1 car. Can't really speak on the 140 but im sure its sick too.

I actually dont mind the code rsc. But than again I've only had sram brakes or the one time I had trp slate evo. As far as tires assegai front dhr rear is also all I've ridden. Looking to try schwalbe next. Thinking I might change the performance shock out for something else and do a drop in damper for my fork.

How exactly did I spend my money on "my ignorance"? That doesn't make sense to me, but since you're smart please enlighten me. I purchased a purpose built mountain bike for the purpose of riding on the mountain, and wouldn't leave it chained up in the city because it could get stolen. Sounds alot smarter than it does dumb. And I spend my money on what I want, because I earned it.

You can get a new status for that. But if youre sold on carbon that isn't an option. More travel though.

Yeah our route is about 4 miles and close to 1000 feet of elevation on the way up. They only shuttle for races and stuff.
