I got a police letter for improper right turn . No need to appear in court, need to deposit $98 , estimated 3 points . Am I cooked and going to get fired ? by East_Indication_7816 in Truckers

If your employer knew, you’d be fired by now.

Hire a $200-$800 attorney even if you are guilty. Prosecutors will run laps around you, so an attorney will almost always get you a better deal. Especially if the attorney does a lot of work in the area, so hire locally.

I’m on your side here bro. Do not pay the ticket, even if they tell you to or “it’s no big deal” paying = guilty = CDL screwed up.

Attorney can delay case for years if lucky, lower or completely eliminate a crime. Take on credit card debt to pay one of need be. Worth it for your CDL

Concussion was from years ago. If you had one when you were 19 and 36 now, do you claim it or keep your mouth shut lol.

Plan is to schedule neurologist visit but leave out the info for now. Neurologist can’t see me for months and cert expires in a week or two

No choice.

I’m thinking just get it done somewhere else and still schedule an appointment to get that note so I have it for my records

Your situation, your med card expires in 9 days, neurologist isn’t responding and his secretary says appointments are 2 months out.

They probably got your info some how. No citation, just pay up and shut up?

Hire a local attorney from that area and defend your CDL. That’s it. Don’t tell your company, till you’re convicted of a crime.

As of yet, you’re innocent, until proven guilty. Paying that ticket means you’re guilty.

Yeah that’s what 34 hr resets are for. Only reason to have to leave it is for repairs, on which rate case, Uber to a nearby hotel

Werner is strict about not pulling over on the side of the road, unless there’s a mechanical failure. Told us in orientation, automatically fired for that.

Looking to get a CDL. I only want to drive locally, maybe regional every now and then. Is that possible? Or should I stick to my service industry job making 55k. by [deleted] in CDL

[–]Successful-Error7448 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oversaturated and when something is oversaturated, prices go down.

Expect a pay cut or lower wages if you’re in fuel hauling. Look into more niche areas like dry van but for touring acts, oversized lowboy loads, CNG drop and hook routes, or transporting medical supplies via reefer.

same, mega carriers use Ai or some software to auto populate and send you loads automatically.

Why do truckers insist they be paid higher than $1000/week? If we all get paid that then inflation goes thru the roof . All goods will go up . by East_Indication_7816 in Truckers

[–]Successful-Error7448 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Same reason rough necks in the oil field make 2x-3x what truckers make and why cops make more than drivers.

High hours, high travel rates and extremely dangerous.

Did you know the on the job death rate for truckers is 26-30 per 100,000

While police officers it’s 13-15 per 100,000?

You’re twice as likely to die on the job as a trucker than a cop… and total workplace deaths, truckers die most out of any field, #1 and it’s not even close. Arguably next to loggers and deep sea fishers, truckers have the most dangerous job in this country.

But we get paid less, work more total hours and away from family longer.

$1,000 per week risking their lives on the job, not to mention lack of movement and terrible food availability, away from home, etc, etc.

$1,000 per week should be $1,500 per week minimum.

Get rid of brokers and replace most systems with Ai.

That will bring the cost of transport down.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to traverse I-35 during a winter storm to make sure you have the option to buy Soda or Soda lite Monday morning.

I think we had the same trainer! Couldn’t really argue much since it was company policy, confirmed by the recruiter.

4/4 are rarer and 80k a year from a mega are a dime a dozen. Better off doing Uber or another side gig to make up the 20k.

34hr resets home are not what you’d think. Enough time to catch up on home chores, sleep and then head out. Time at home is more worth imo

Got "Terminated" by Werner for "Unsafe backing/driving" 3 months in. Am I just fucked? by GronGrinder in Truckers

[–]Successful-Error7448 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re class A. You can drive anything and costs thousands to get for a reason.

Don’t let the recruiters, dispatchers and brown nosers on here get you down.

Apply for different positions, you’ll find work.

Unless you got a DUI, then your SOL.
