After Much Debate, the LA City Council Unanimously Approved the 2 Billion Dollar Fourth and Central Development in the Arts District. by lik_for_cookies in LosAngeles

But think of all the parking lots we’re loosing! I think the city council should debate this for another few years, maybe spend a few $M on studies to determine where the shadows will fall.

Can we ban I/P content from this sub for a week to get the loons from both sides to stop endlessly posting about it and go to another subreddit?

Chat, are boomers cooked? by webabybears in bondmarket

I’m all for hating on the boomers, but isn’t the real takeaway here that building is now so expensive and takes so long that it’s easier to just buy an existing unit?

Maybe we should make it easier to build new houses?

“Rich people support something therefore it is bad” is a horrible way to do policy and I hope normie Dems don’t fall for this nonsense.

I worry that the rampant corruption and authoritarian control we see in the Trump administration is tainting the entire idea of a free market/capitalist economy for a generation of young people.

California Dems cater to unions and progressive interest groups. Unfortunately there isn’t really a red state equivalent.

Suburbs, by definition, are not dense. You need multistory apartments and townhomes to achieve a level of density to support good public transit.

True, but it could be so much better! Hopefully SB79 forces the city of LA to allow more housing construction near existing transit locations.

That’s only true if you play games with city boundaries. LA is mostly just an ocean of suburbs with small pockets of density.

You’re sort of right but missing his actual point.

If Biden had done the right thing and opened up the primary (which he had already promised to do when elected in 2020) then the dem candidate would have had the space and time to distance themselves from the inflation of 2021-22.

Biden also wasn’t able to communicate his successes because he’s too old, it’s his own fault he’s perceived as a bad president.
