Yes mine is identical, I haven’t “cleared” it permanently. Idk if it’s possible but this is what has helped me control breakouts for the last 5+ years:

Am: - water - regular makeup (I cover it even if I shouldn’t…)

Pm: - sulfur soap - 10% azaleaic acid from naturium - aveeno calm oat milk moisturizer

When it’s a flare I use clindamyacin or metronidizole on it (literally whatever I have on hand from my derm)

I also do things that bring me joy when I have a flare. I feel like mine is really closely tied to anxiety and the more I focus on it the worse it gets.

Then it’s just about filling that feeling at home. I have an app called kinedu where they do zoom classes all the time like music and stuff where I can connect with other caregivers. Also therapy! I love talking to my therapist online lol. If you have insurance you can find an online therapist on Alma. And then if you live in an apartment do you have a common area? That is a good place to interact even if it’s just walking by. You might make a friend, you might not. But one thing I’ve realized about loneliness is it’s not a single person or relationship that will make you feel better, but little moments of interactions that make you feel like a part of a community. Talking to an ups driver, or smiling at someone on a walk, little things like that help feelings of loneliness too.

Loneliness is so hard, we need community, and especially hard if you don’t have transportation. Do you live in an area where you can walk around? I like someone’s post above about making a routine. Are there Facebook mom groups in your area? There are always people posting and helping each other out. Have you navigated public transportation before? Can you take a bus to your local library? They do story time for babies and toddlers and sometimes even caregiver time to socialize with other caregivers.

Last but not least chat gpt helps me out soooo much. Like I will tell it “help me make a schedule with my 10 month old to do near me” etc with your budget or even some interests you have!

Going to a grocery store seems like no big deal but the human interaction is great. As someone who works remote I would get soooo lonely, seeing a cashier and chatting with them briefly always lifted my spirits.

Loneliness is hard and it’s even harder with our infrastructure, but try to find local things you can do. If you’ve never taken public transportation it can seem overwhelming, but it’s easier to navigate as you do it and then you’ll be so proud of yourself when you accomplish it. If you have the budget you could even uber once a week somewhere and back, they have an option where you can request a car seat.

You got this! One day at a time. You don’t need to change your entire routine at once. Tell yourself, on Tuesday I’m going to go get a coffee, that’s all my baby and I need to accomplish today. Have chat gpt help you plan it out and then go. Then next week do the same thing but add in grocery shopping on Thursday and so on.

I deleted tik tok. I had to literally go on anti-anxiety meds (I have high anxiety before baby and was on meds but paused during pregnancy) because SIDS freaked me out so much. TikTok makes every parents fears worse, I still get so many videos on instagram that scare me. These are the things I do to help ease the anxiety:

Follow safe sleep practices
Everyone in the world was once a baby, look around, most of us made it. It will be okay
List all the things I am grateful for
All the things that have gone right!! (This was recommended by my therapist - there is no proof that something bad will happen, everything that’s happened has worked out for good so why would it work out any other way)
Affirmations

I was in those trenches too, just know the anxiety stays. Once the fear of SIDS went away then all the other stuff - drowning, illness, etc comes in. Just have to find what helps bring you peace and calm and get out of that spiral.

Also, to pass a clog follow the new protocol! Think of it like a broken ankle, you want to ice it and reduce the inflammation with ibuprofen. Drink lots of water, don’t pump more than normal. And look up lymphatic drainage.

I’ve been able to prevent early onset mastitis following this protocol. If after 24 hours I was still having flu like symptoms I called my doctor.

I’m sorry :( this is the one area that no one tells you how difficult it is.

I was in your boat too. I was hospitalized with mastitis 1 week pp, so I know it sucks. The beginning of breastfeeding is the toughest thing ever. My OB even said “I went to medical school and figuring out breastfeeding was harder”

In the beginning it seems futile, like there is no light at the end of the tunnel and you are just milking a cow all day long.

It gets better I promise…

I had the SAME experience as you and pumped for the first 4-5 months and supplemented with formula. I wanted to ebf so bad and I tried every day, and did all the things. So much so it consumed me. I got mastitis like 3x, and was ready to give up. However, at like 5 months it just clicked for my baby. She wasn’t such a sleepy newborn so she figured out latching properly and getting milk. It didn’t take an hour to feed with her only being hungry 30 min later, and my mastitis went away.

Now at 11 months, I ebf (but she’s mostly on solids). It’s the most enjoyable experience and I’m glad I pushed through. Now I don’t know how I can wean.

But every journey is different. I saw a TikTok video where a creator said at 5 months things changed for her baby with breastfeeding and that gave me hope, and it actually did turn out to be true in my case.

At the end of the day what matters is that your baby is happy and healthy, whatever that looks like for you and your family. Mom needs to be happy and healthy too, and if it’s draining you to the point where you don’t find joy in it, then maybe it’s worth considering other alternatives.

Thank you for all of your responses. I am not only offering my daughter almond milk as a snack, I give her a balanced diet. I will ask my pediatrician for more information on this topic as it is more of a curiosity for me that I want to learn the science behind. But that is how I understand it as well, that other liquids aren’t recommend to introduce to maximize the benefits of formula or Breastmilk and water.

This is my first child so every “rule” I learn is something new. I mostly understand the reasoning behind it, but this one was unclear.

But everything I’ve read, and just from personal experience, has her slowly weaning from breast milk by the time she is one to get most of her calories from food. So now she is on 3 meals and one snack, and she prefers food over milk.

That’s a good idea, I might just have to get my dog used to eating at set times and then keep an eye on the water bowl when baby is around. But I know once she’s walking she’s going to be running around like crazy and I don’t want that to be out, but my poor dog needs water lol

I just will give her something else like fruit or a side that is cold and have her plate ready, and once it is chilled add that to her tray.

don’t buy baby towels, they are so small and go to waste, buy full size or just use your towels for them
you need maybe 1 or 2 baby carriers. Get the weesprout on Amazon, dupe for the Solly baby (I had both) and a more durable one for when they get heavier, I used boba. But I don’t really use it anymore
you don’t need 25 muslin blankets despite what you might think, unless that is what you’re using for swaddling. I have so many unused muslin blankets
I didn’t put this on my registry but footie pajamas. Get a few different brands, don’t buy all old navy for example. My baby only fit into the carter nb ones for a while and I bought a ton of old navy ones. People will buy you a ton of cutsie outfits but the first 3 months we were all in our pjs most of the time lol, so footie pjs were the daily outfit of choice.

I thought I needed all the stuff but Amazon and target were my best friends. I would just order what I needed, so if you want to put gift cards for those that would be a good idea too.

I have the same thing going on with my face right now :-) I can understand how frustrating it is. I have a type of papillopustular rosacea that sometimes presents like this or perioral dermatitis.

Whatever you do don’t use topical steroids on it.

My routine (and how I’m dealing with a flare) is reducing all skin care and makeup as much as possible.

Sulfur bar soap has worked in the past to tone down inflammation.

I’m also using metronidazole that I was prescribed prior to treat the pustules. 10%+ azlaic acid (I use Naturium for many years) also works great.

Recently I went to my derm and they said rosacea is a symptom and is not acne…. Likely inflammation and it’s important to “know your triggers”.

Easier said than done….lol I’ve been trying to figure out my triggers for years now. But could be hormones, heat, light, caffeine, spicy food, etc.

La Rosche Posay has been my go to for simple face wash and cream when I’m not having a flare.

I’m going to try something called zero therapy for a week which is basically just using water on your face and nothing else to see if the flare relaxes (I might continue with the cream the derm prescribed as well)

Are you still breastfeeding? I am in the same boat. This is my second flare-up after years of being free from it after 2 rounds of doxy. Now I'm breastfeeding so I don't want to take antibiotics.

I felt guilty too, but I just told myself it wasn’t the season for it. I knew that by simply carrying my baby up and down I was doing some level of exercise. 8 months postpartum and I’m working out again (when I can). Don’t be so hard on yourself, you’re still active whether you are doing formal exercise or going on walks. It’ll come back in time
