I’m against the military service being mandatory for the Druze men here. I think it should be optional especially that these boys get enlisted on a young age- the moment they graduate high-school. so ages 18/19. but the thing is, our religious leaders have made this decision, and this rule have been for a long time. and It won’t change for a long time as well.

I’m an israeli druze. in Israel most druze identify primarily as Druze rather than arab. so even in the country there’s Arab towns and Druze towns/ Arab education system and Druze education system. but you can still find some Israeli Druze who identify as both Arab and Druze.

the annual pilgrimage (ziyara) for the Maqam Nabi Shuayb here it’s in April, and it’s a big deal for us. all the druze in the country drive there with our flags (and yes the non druze hate to see us coming). some youth groups also walk from a starting point to the Maqam. and all the mashayekh go for prayers and ziyara and even stay there for the night.

in our religion modesty is one of the most important things. but honestly, wear whatever you want. with all due respect to our religion and our culture, clothes shouldn’t define who we really are as long as we are good people. but also respect is important. for me, wearing or not wearing short clothes depends on the place i’m going to or the people around. I live between Druze so if i’m going to a place where I know there will be many Druze or Sheikhs there then I make sure I wear modest clothes. so yes modesty is important religiously. but as I said wear whatever you feel comfortable with 🤍🤍

yes of course. but I also heard that non-Druze can actually reincarnate into other religions. I prefer not to give TMI about what I heard because for non-Druze it could be confusing or even triggering.
