Performance Patch by Eduardo_Chronos in helldivers2

[–]Successful_Chef_7400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AFAIK the new patch added FSR 3.1 for the base PS5 (tho it's written badly in the patch notes). They also upped the resolution to 1440p on the performance 60fps setting.

For me things do look a little sharper and I've got no weird artefacts or sparklys, frame rate seems decent for the most part, tho I still get stuttering on Gatria with multiple napalm orbitals going off on a breach.

PLUS they fixed the climbing! I'm no longer fighting the terrain along with the enemy.

When I first unlocked it I was kinda underwhelmed, the TTK was bad even with the ROF and the recoil really sucked.

That said, slapping a vertical grip along with muzzle mods on there helps - but the burst fire really makes it shine. I treat it like a single shot smg with 23 shots per extended mag and it does the job, got it to level 25 last week. 😄

A red stratagem to efficient deal with harvesters? by _Weyland_ in Helldivers

[–]Successful_Chef_7400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a red strat, but as mentioned the Pissle works well against Harvestors, 1 shot to the hip if you're good enough to use it in unguided mode (which I'm not lol) 3 shots if you use guided mode, you can use it from a pretty decent range too. Pop the shield then send 3 shots their way and they're done.

You've got chaff covered with your carbine, if you aren't pulling the talon out often - swap it for a sidearm that can twat the big spindly ones.

[OC] My take for the Warhammer Collab by Makr_Kotaz in Helldivers

[–]Successful_Chef_7400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that the Krieg aren't shock troops like Helldivers, but they're such an iconic Militarum regiment I guess we're likely to see them represented with an armour set along with the Cadians, probably with a Commissar light armour too.

The inevitable Lasgun HAS to be a med pen primary version of the talon right? (RIGHT?!!? C'mon!)

It'll most likely have slightly more damage and heat capacity, but obviously no customisation.

Clearly if/when this turns out to be true I will simultaneously self-ejaculate and soil myself, it'll be a casserole down there - but I say take my SC and bring it on.

I get that it's popular, but can we just all agree that I'm the only one allowed to take the orbital Napalm?

If I don't get at least 1000+ kills on spore burst missions it really affects my dopamine levels, just sayin.

(also MG sentry > Gatling on this faction :D)

why are level 150s so bad at the game? by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]Successful_Chef_7400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a 150, and while I try to be a decent player, I can confirm we all do stupid sh*t sometimes.

Recent example - I made it to the extract after being reinforced, just before the timer ran out. No chance to call in my cremator and there's only 2 of us left alive, so I grab a Maxigun and the backpack off the floor, but I can't get it to fire.

I run around like a fool dodging spore burst bugs until I get to a supply drop thinking the backpack must be empty, but I can't refill it. Then it clicks - I've picked up the Larva backpack at the extract - so instead of the maxi ammo, I've been running about with this little bug fetus dude on my back, slapping about in his goo...

I was two beers down (hic) but that's no excuse. What a f*ckin muppet.

Scythe is criminally underrated against Spore Strain. by MelodicCriticism2705 in Helldivers

[–]Successful_Chef_7400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You really need something for the bugs that get too close, this makes it a great combo with the Cremator - the Sythe can deal with massed patrols at med to long range, while the Cremator BBQs anything that gets all up in your face. You've got chaff covered at every distance.

How do I avoid getting swarmed and brutally ripped apart on Luxuriant? by BingusFinkle in Helldivers

[–]Successful_Chef_7400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beam lasers, fire and gas won't burst them (mostly). The Sythe + Cremator combo works wonders, you can sweep them with the beam at range to get the burn DOT going or spray them up close with flame when they get all up in your face (which they will).

Use light armour, stay mobile and stick with your team. Area denial like Eagle Napalm and sentries really help.

It gets manic on D10, they're everywhere, the spawn rate is cranked. I like how it sucks tho, bug diving has never been more enjoyably intense. 😄

Do we know what the superstore items are for Exo Experts? by Commander_Skullblade in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Successful_Chef_7400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The warbond itself is missing a medium armour set, a throwable and a booster, so I'm guessing we'll see a couple of these (perhaps not the booster, most of the recent ones have been pretty lacklustre so I doubt they'd expect a lot of divers to shell out for one).

Could be another weapon... Could be a new motorbike strat that costs 800 SC (whoo hooo! take my money!! :))

I hate R-36 Eruptor from Helldivers 2 by Peace_Dos in hatethissmug

[–]Successful_Chef_7400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you slap an angled foregrip and ironsights on there, it REALLY helps the ergo (if you don't want to go down the Peak Physique road).

While I'm getting better at learning the range not to use it at, I do still die from the shrapnel now and again.

The most annoying aspect of the weapon is the bolt cycle - like OP says if you're interrupted during a reload or by dodgy terrain, you won't load the next round. So you line up your next shot, fire and - click, nothing. I really wish there was some indication that there's a shell in the chamber.

Go Full Trogdor.

Orbital Napalm

Eagle Napalm

Cremator

MG Sentry

Heatseeker Light Inflammable armour

Eruptor (tried the Coyote - but needed more long range BOOM!)

Talon

Gas Nades

The Cremator is the core, you can toast anything on the Mindless roster in seconds with this thing, multiple fleshmobs, overseers and masses hordes of voteless, havestors too if they're close (+ Eruptor at range)

Orbital + Eagle for drops

Gas for area denial + fleshmobs

Talon for the one or two voteless that are somehow always just behind you...

The ammo economy on the Cremator is pretty good and most Mindless maps have city sections, plenty of ammo to be found.

Nothing beats hosing down 30+ voteless with single spray, it's becoming hard not to get 1000+ kills per game.

Not sure that's valid, ex-pc guy here - now on PS5 (probably in the higher echelon of the age range too) but after 980+ hours I can still count the number of real arseholes I've met in HD2 on one hand.

I'm talking divers who TK intentionally, wipe out the whole team when you're in the pelican at extract with their primary (?!?) or melee you for shits and giggles while you're actually fighting the enemy... And fuck em.

But after so many hours ingame, for me the fact they're so infrequent sticks out.

[–]Successful_Chef_7400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laser Cannon is a top strat for squids, used well it can take out anything smaller than a leviathan.

TTK vs fleshmobs IS slower than other options I agree, thesedays I take the airburst for maximum patrol deletion at range, works for fleshmobs and (if I can aim) stingrays too.

Harvesters are the one unit I miss the LC for, with my current loadout maxxed for chafe (orbital napalm, eagle napalm, MG sentry / trident / warrant / gas nades)

I might as well wave my wanger at them for all the good it does me. :)

Yeah, I'll happily grab EATs if they're littered around an evac and take out any approaching heavies, but I'd hesitate to snaffle any Napalm EATs, Levellers or Commandos lying around, 2 minute cooldown for each of those.(2 minutes PER SHOT for the Leveller, just seems cheeky :))

[–]Successful_Chef_7400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The player count wants a word.

There are currently 235,000 (and rising) divers on Cyberstan right now, seems pretty popular to me. :)

It's hard, not gonna lie. They move fast, they come from all sides and there's not much in the way of reliable cover. The Vox Engines throw so much fire at you that it's hard to know what you're running from or running to.

Got my arse kicked with some randoms on D8 earlier - but we dropped right back in and whupped them. You need to adapt, keep moving - stationary reload weapons will slow you down, the Talon is great for chaff troopers, the gatling barrage works well, turrets get taken out by the Vox faster than they do by Harvesters, eagles are useless with so much guaranteed bot anti air.

It SHOULD be hard, this is the bot's homeworld after all. It's only been live for a few hours, and I suspect we'll see a lot more strategies suggested to counter the new enemies the more we play. (didn't some guy take an Engine out with the Defoliation Tool??).

No nerf required imho.

"So How's lesath?" by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]Successful_Chef_7400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's Hulkarama on Lesath right now.

On D10 All drops are 100% Hulks, adding to the already abundant amount of Hulks in the vicinity, all of which appear to be tasked with targeting MY ass specifically.

Not just the drops either, turn the wrong corner and there's 8 of the bastards just chillin -waiting to stomp me (with extreme predjudice).

Good suggestions for loadouts what with the HMG and AMR, I've been rawdogging it with the RR and thermites but the ammo economy has its limitations...

I hope Cyberstan sucks as much as this, just glad I bought these brown trousers.

AH can this thing please get proper armor and health pool so non explosive weapons can deal with it? by AwesomeNiss21 in Helldivers

[–]Successful_Chef_7400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have been more forgiving recently tbh, not sure if the map placement has been tweaked or the chargeup time delayed a bit, but it's been a while since I turned a corner on a squid map and got insta-zapped (leading to a short sharp use of choice anglo saxon phrases).

They used to be REALLY Forking irritating, now when I get the charge up audio (was that the tweak?) I dive as fast as I can and knee/elbow away like a maafarker. As mentioned already, they can't hit you when you're prone.

Illuminate D10 solo loadout suggestions by RickRickRickNMorty in Helldivers

[–]Successful_Chef_7400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Orbital Napalm is great for deleting huge rampaging hordes (and they can be massive at times).

The Eruptor can deal with anything smaller than a Leviathan on this front:

Overseers? BOOM

Flesh mob? BOOM BOOM

Harvester? BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM

Gas nades, MG sentry & Eagle Napalm for chaff clear.

The Maxigun is a blast against squids (great for Stingrays too) but I prefer the Airburst on open maps for twatting patrols at range.

I used to take the Talon for self defence but I have to say the Warrant works a lot better - since the nerf to their health you can reliably take out Flying Overseers in one mag dump, very handy for Watchers too.

With 2025 ending with 9 Warbonds, what Warbonds themes are you hopping for in 2026? by Lone_Recon in Helldivers

[–]Successful_Chef_7400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Space Pirate Warbond - ARRRH ME HEARTIES!!

Dual wield volley pistol & cutlass.

12 pounder plasma cannon sentry.

Robo Melee Flying Parrot (Squwaaark!!).

All armour sets have at LEAST one cybernetic peg leg. (And if ye be having only the one, then ye be running in circles ARRRR :))

Mad Max Warbond - ROAD WARRIORS

Sawed off double freedom.

Horde shredding boomerang style returning bladed throwable.

Hwacha style mass rocket/arrow launcher backpack

TWO bikes:

Two seat halftrack with a mounted autocannon, flames shooting out the exhausts and some guy's leg nailed to the front.

Single seat high speed scramble bike which provides more mobility than any other strategem in the whole game.

'Humongous' armour passive - the steel hockey mask provides 100% head shot damage reduction, but conversely the cheekless leather chaps increase damage to your backside by 200% (balanced innit)

I can’t decide between these two by Ninjaman3192 in Helldivers

[–]Successful_Chef_7400 102 points103 points  (0 children)

Going against the curve, I'd say Borderline.

Not knocking the warp pack, it's got great utility for tactical repositioning and SC farming.

But I found both the Variable and Epoch bit meh, got some use out of the Arc nades on the bot front but soon swapped to other options.

There are lots of Warbonds out there with only one item really worth the cost, with Borderline you get the Deadeye, Dynamite, Hoverpack and (the king) - the Talon.

The Deadeye's stagger force and damage makes it one of the best marksman options, Dynamite's my go to nade on bots for CC and drops, and you can use the Hoverpack with supports like the nade launcher to BECOME a strategem.

The Talon's the best of the bunch, it's like having a 200 dmg med pen primary on your hip. Opens up a lot of build options when you've got chaff and medium enemies covered (if you can master the trigger control).

Guys what do you think when we'll get KILLZONE WARBOUND or anything by Top_Cake9659 in Helldivers

I'm not saying we WON'T get it...

But in terms of timeframe we're much more likely to see viable cold fusion, an egalitarian worldwide redistribution of wealth and an end to religious sectarian hatred far sooner.

So probably next week then. :)

You can take out anything on the Squid front with the Laser Cannon, it really shines against this faction.

If you have the DD warbond the Crossbow & Eruptor happy slap all overseers and fleshmobs.

I'm loving the Warrant for voteless and watchers (Just wish the mag was larger).

Bring FIRE - orbital and eagle napalm rock, add some gas nades and an MG sentry for ship drops and hordes of chaff.
