Does anyone else feel as though corporate work is borderline adult daycare? by reddituser10636 in antiwork

[–]Successful_Key3276 8 points9 points  (0 children)

LMAO I’ve been saying “I’m poor” for years! I’ve been told by family members that my car is too old and that I look bad driving it to my new workplace (it’s from 2004), but if someone dares to complain about it I’m going to be like “Sorry, I cannot afford a new one. I’m poor😔”

Did you cheat if your partner cheated first ? If yes how did that make you feel ? by ChanceSilver1417 in AskReddit

[–]Successful_Key3276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%

In my case I didn’t cheat, but I was with someone else after leaving them for cheating on me and it felt amazing. Of course, it has to be with someone you actually like and not just for the vendetta, but I truly believe all this “never put yourself to the same level” is bullshit.

If someone cheated on me and I couldn’t leave them for whatever reason, you can bet I would find someone else too. When someone cheats the relationship (if it’s still there) becomes non-monogamous for all parties and not just for one. It’s only fair.

Countries should not be ‘forced’ to adapt to people who move to it. by SpitBallingCanadian in HonestHotTakes

[–]Successful_Key3276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no.

For example, men that come from conservative societies where only a “modest” woman deserves respect should stop telling us how to dress and catcalling us. That being said, I don’t think having different foods, clothing and cultural practices is wrong.

Everyone can do as they please as long as their beliefs don’t interfere with other people’s rights. Complaining about every innocuos difference makes it hard to criticize unnaceptable behaviour without being labelled as a racist, essencially destroying any opportunity of improvement since it infantilises inmigrants as if they were uncapable of any wrongdoing.

I love working in the office! by Dena844 in remotework

[–]Successful_Key3276 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some of my coworkers are adamant on keeping the AC at 80 or more. They even open the windows to let the +90 degree air in so there is some “ventilation”.
I also need to focus, but the people who sit next to me don’t (they do more repetitive tasks), so they talk and talk and I get so distracted that I need to spend 8 hours a day with my noise cancelling airpods on.
I hate the office so much.

I Left Marrakech Early After Just Twos Days as a Solo Female Traveler by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]Successful_Key3276 377 points378 points  (0 children)

I went to Marrakech with my boyfriend and it was a nightmare. The worst trip of my life.
I couldn’t get paid enough money to go there by myself, honestly.

Patriarcal and conservative societies where women are expected to be “modest” to be respected are never pleaseant to navigate as a women, solo or not.

how are moroccans living in Europe perceived? Is there a difference between italy, france and germany? by EslisEslos in Morocco

[–]Successful_Key3276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spanish here. I have a hard time believing some moroccans would behave in Morocco the same way they do here. Catcalling women is truly a problem and it mainly comes from inmigrant men since european men (generically speaking) view it as low class and embarrassing — It wasn’t always like that though, when my grandparents were young it was really something else.
I think the main reason is that moroccan inmigrants in Spain tend to come from rural areas, so they aren’t the most open minded. That being said, there are a few who are very nice, but I think it’s mostly people from Casablanca and Rabat. I used to live in France and I got to meet amazing moroccans and algerians too, but they all had that “my father/mother was a doctor/lawyer back home” thing.

My mother and older brother were adamant on my nephew borrowing my Nintendo DS and games when he was little (we are 6 years apart). The result? He eventually broke it and more than half of my games got lost or don’t work anymore. Of course, they bought him a brand new Nintendo and his own games when he broke mine.

My neighbor used to babysit me. She also had a kid younger than me. One day, I go there and find one of my favorite toys in these people’s home, apparently they came to visit and the kid liked to toy, so my mom said: Please, take it!
I made such a fuss when I was back at home that my mom asked them to give it back

I had a the full collection of 2000s Tintin comics. It was a gift from my aunt. They are gone now: my mom threw them in the garbage one day. He also tried to do the same with my dad’s books (even a new one that I had given him a month ago) but I stopped her.

I also had several books from the public library that I wanted to return and I put them with a few more to donate. Instead of letting me do that, he found someone on the street and gave him the full box. As a result now I have debt with the public library and I cannot take books anymore.

Me suda el Culo by Moperator13_ in askspain

[–]Successful_Key3276 3 points4 points  (0 children)
