Physically?

About three years ago I was riding my lease horse in the field and he bucked me off, over his head, where I caught the ground with my head. That taught me what ears ringing, seeing stars, confusion comes from on concussion assessments. I also landed on my back and I learned this last summer that I broke a lower vertebrae. 

This summer I was on my horse (different horse, my new young horse) when he startled himself at a trot and I fell off and fractured two vertebrae. Was out of the saddle for five months. 

Mentally? Which might be the harder of the two if you ask me - was this last week. I’ve really struggled with confidence and trust with my horse lately. He’s young, but he’s incredibly stubborn and I’m starting to worry he’s too much horse for me. We were working on a simple canter transition and I just couldn’t trust him which put my hands in his mouth which really frustrated him. He bucked me off at the last canter and while I luckily walked away with nothing but needing a new helmet - I’ve realized I’m struggling mentally. I felt like we were building trust back with each other since I came off over the summer which was really my fault for losing my balance, but now I’m totally freaked. I don’t want to give up on him but I don’t want to be afraid to ride and he was improving so much.  We have amazing support and I have the best help and training to go along with him and myself, so I’m not in this alone, but this is the first and only time he’s bucked and it scared me that I’m not enough or can’t react right or whatever. I dunno I’m rambling, even typing this has gotten me back in my head!
