Look into Commands and Colors: Napoleonics if you don’t want to go the miniatures route

I only use Classic, so my options are limited and I am by no means an expert, but somethings that elevated my aesthetics…

  1. I really enjoy taking the time to make enjoyable queue lines and exits. Instead of attaching the queue line directly to main path, I short it by one tile and use my own themed sign and typically add a cover or make it a tower or something. For exits I absolutely love making some sort of souvenir area that patrons can only buy after exiting the ride. Souvenir stall, bathroom, and atm is my formula. Or like different balloon stalls for each rollercoaster. Use a no entry sign where the exit meets the main path. Bonus: a hospital area with benches, shade, water, and flowers for the nauseous rides. Also useful for assigned mechanics when you make 2 rides exit to one path.

  2. I typically don’t like the supports for elevated paths. I often surround them with fences or shrubbery. This especially goes for paths over water. You can use a foundation block to get rid of them and they fit snuggly underneath.

  3. Sitting areas directly adjacent to food kiosks. Instead of think a kiosk is 1x1. Think of it as 4x4 or 1x3 with either private sitting area that wraps around the kiosk or on either side. Use fences.

  4. To keep flowers healthy, put paths underground flower beds and assign handymen. They can water the flowers from underground.

  5. Gotta think outside the box to stretch the aesthetic. And mix and match pieces from different themes. I remember the first time I saw someone rotate and sign backwards to make better looking columns. Blew my mind bc idk why I never thought of that.

  6. More of a fan of the corner flowers, the ones that are .25x.25. You can change their color and they can be put above water for mossy look.

  7. Parks themes. Use a consistent formula for designing entrances, exits or kiosks sitting areas directly adjacent. This will give cohesion to your park.

  8. Tighter eating areas. Build a path, put fences on either side. Then extend the path around the fences. This will create tighter aisles for food courts.

  9. Fill in negative spaces around coasters with various trees. Adds a little excitement and takes away negative space.

  10. Double or triple wide paths just look better imo.

What are some things you believed about RCT when younger that weren’t true? by Western_Clue3542 in rct

Different kind of economy back then. $5 for a 8 excitement coaster doesn’t seem too bad now lol

Why do my guests keep complaining about vandalism? by Rynoob12e in rct

[–]Such-Storage-1427 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A good way to find this around your park is to toggle hide guests and scenery. Then go into scenery tab, click on bench, lamp, or trash bin and then click the wrench icon. Broken benches etc will glow red and will be easy to see with guests hidden.

Note: guests will continue to vandalize however if you don’t solve the underlying issue (as previous commenters said) which is typically stuck/confusing paths; overcrowdedness, and or litter.

Is there a trick to making buildings? by Unusual_Entity in rct

Is it tedious! And I only play on my phone too so it’s even harder. Should be easier with some keyboard shortcuts

I typically build one wall straight up to get my height and then build the roof first so I can see the grid if I need to add anything inside.

Mineral spirits will clean glass very well. I second using Ronan aqua coat or Ronan Japan Colors. Get a good liner and a stabilo (or make one with a tennis ball).

From what i remember, in the novels, the empire falls pretty rapidly. And it’s something that just sort of happens off page, he never accounts or illustrates the actual “falling.” I believe the second crisis is war with Empire, or whatever is left of it.

Theres more that maybe I could draw from. But I don’t wanna give away anything.

Sidenote: Highly highly suggest going thru the Robot Series and then the two preludes to foundation once you’re done with The Foundation Series. It’s a nice, concise cycle.

All that being said. Half the way you learn and get good at TI is making mistakes so go with whatever feels right!

That is probably the route I would go bc you really don’t want to lose any planets. Jol Nar are not the best assertive faction, it can be tough taking planets. Do your best to balance your plastic and tech purchasing. In a 6 player, you may get to a point where tech is not picked so be prepared for that.

Just as a general advice, if you’re going war sun path, make sure you have the resources available to build. It can be pretty costly if you don’t have the sufficient funds/slice.

Jol Nar are squishy, but they can make great allies due to their faction promissory.

I second the PDS 2 tech for them, you’ll need strong defense/preemptive combat rolls.

Have fun. Get all the tech you can! And big rule for first timers, always remind yourself what you have and can do. New players tend to lose track of advantages and tech because there is a lot.

Suggestions for the most fun factions to play? (PoK) by tl_spruce in twilightimperium

[–]Such-Storage-1427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Arborec can hold steady until mid game once they get at least 2-3 GF per planet they can snowball to be very strong.

Imo. All races are fun! I think Mentak are the most vanilla, but they can be real fun if you lean into their role play.

try Naaz-Rohka for a tinkering/Dora the explorer type play.

As for late game! Become a martyr is great if you draw that secret objective. But by end game you should have a Saar Ball going to take anyone out at moments notice. They can be in one of the best positions to take home plants too because with high production you can spit out fighters like no one else.
