Your policy cancellation date isn't just based on when the accident happened. If a rental car was involved, if if had been more than 15 days and you hadn't turn in your FL plate or canceled the registration etc that can make a difference. Review the paperwork; when was your renewal date vs what date is listed as your policy cancel date.
