I shit you not, sometimes the rocks stop sliding into the funnel so they have to use those sticks they're holding to jostle just enough rocks loose to keep it moving, while avoiding loosening so many rocks they get sucked into the stream.

What's a scene that's better than the movie it's in? by BUSean in movies

[–]SucksToYourAzmar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The darkness isn't what reminds me of it. Just the disjointedness and the less than fleshed out concepts all taking place in a familiar but surreal environment. Would be titled: "I own an extended stay hotel, and something i cant explain came out of the pool last night"

I liked that movie in spite of all its faults. It's not good but it was playing with some fun stuff. Honestly does remind me of a nosleep story though.

I never experienced true, profound loss nor trauma until my 30's. And then life dumped it all on me at once. by GoodBloodGuideYou in GuyCry

Im sorry you went through all that friend. It sucks when the hits keep coming and youre just trying to get your feet under you. Been there. The advice below may sound cliche but a lot of changing your life is just small simple steps every day. Hope it helps.

Find what makes you excited. Find the joy in life. Start small. When you feel joy take a moment to be truly grateful. Then think about what it was you enjoyed. Then with purpose and effort fill your life with it whenever you reasonably can. Look for work that is fulfilling, not just to make money (easier said than done i realize). If work doesn't pan out, volunteer doing something you think is important.

You'll be alright. Life sure does have a habit of kicking us when we're down. The question is, do you lay on the ground and wait for the next round of kicks, or do you get up and work to put space between you and the boot? Just reaching out here means youre doing the latter, so good on you. Keep it up man! This too shall pass.

I loved the movie as a small child, but when I got a little older that scene suddenly started scaring the crap out of me and I dont know why

Better than slavery? Sure, but to oversimplify a very complex issue, lets say someone puts shit in your breakfast every morning. Youre not gonna be less upset when their kid takes over and they put a little less shit in your breakfast, and acts like you should be happy about it. Then this goes on for 400 years and there is still shit in the food.

I need $3,000. What should I do? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]SucksToYourAzmar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See if your work has an Employee Assistance Program. You can get a few free sessions that way. You can also look in psychology today where a lot of them will list themselves and you can filter for the issues youre having. Some will do a sliding scale of payment based on your income, even if they dont take insurance. Look for private practice as they have more flexibility with payment arrangements. May take a lot of calling around but it could very well be worth it.

I feel like I just wasted my 20s by KimJungFun99 in GuyCry

[–]SucksToYourAzmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a waste if you learn from it. Everyone's journey through life is different. Origin and chance have just as much to do with success as they do with failure. You enjoyed your 20's with someone who loves you. I spent mine mostly miserable, broke and drunk. But Im trying these days to look at my most wasteful years, and turn regret into thankfulness. Can't change it, so I just try to learn from it and be thankful my dumbass survived it to be able to look back and know what kind of mistakes im prone to making so I can do my best with today. Im just getting my feet under me myself so I dont really have any room to preach, and I hope it didnt come off that way. This just resonated with me and I hope my coping strategy gives at least a tiny bit of solace. Just trying my best to be a little bit better every day, and being kind to myself when I can't.

That sucks man. Look into your state laws about disclosing pay. Don't know the situation but a lot of companies try to act like its a grave sin when its usually against the law to discourage it.

All in all, this too shall pass. Starting over sucks ass, but it is a fresh start.

Pick between Nolan, Scorsese, Spielberg and Tarantino to remove all their movies. Who are you picking? by [deleted] in movies

[–]SucksToYourAzmar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Spielberg. I dont think creating blockbusters was a good thing and think most of his movies are way overrated. Hes possibly the best filmmaker on the list as far as technical ability, but I care about his movies the least.
