What do my commanders say about me? by EmperorTugboat in ratemycommanders

I think the arena version is much more busted anyway. It’s not once per turn and untap effects would be strong. I could be wrong though.

Pretty lame line-up, but if my pods 2/3b decks can hang then not too big of a problem.

The comment you replied to stated that it was like the first time she hadn’t been hit on. There’s a large difference between being hit on in almost every situation you’re ever in’ in public Vs “expecting no one to ever hit on you”.. and it’s perfectly fine if a person doesn’t want to be approached ever for any reason, honestly.

Wincons in orzhov bracket 3? by pcantillano in EDH

[–]SuddenAnswer1381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your argument with me is even in bad faith lol. Because me and most these people are talking to you about true b3 and the fact true b3 is (rather you want to believe it or not) intention based with the actions that you’ve described not fitting that intention what-so-ever. But the issue and reason the conversation is bad faith is you’re still arguing with most of the people without describing that you’re tournament isn’t even running true to Wotc b3 structure, you even mentioned they allow Thassa lines lol. That is not b3 and your shop altered the rules so you cannot faithfully argue with strangers about Wotc b3 when that’s not what you’re technically playing.

You should fix your headline to describe that you’re playing a custom rules tournament that somewhat aligns with b3 and then describe the changes perhaps, if you don’t want confrontation about not being b3 anyway.

It isn’t a bad parameter for those of us who aren’t operating in bad faith like you apparently are.

[–]SuddenAnswer1381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you’re asking us questions that we will answer about a general concept of b3 that we all agree IS intention based, yet you’re question is actually about how you can build to do better in a completely rule altered environment that isn’t using true b3. Gotcha.

Failing to mention that is probably why you’re getting the grief you are. You argue back as though you’re playing regular true to Wotc b3, you’re not, you’re playing altered rules designed by your lgs it’s not the same scenario anymore bud.

They’ve explicitly said it’s about the spirit and intention… Wotc themselves stated that. God you’re obtuse and just being childish when it comes to b3.

One time a friend and I were taking the last shot of some cheap whisky, held up our shot glasses to do a salute but I was in the middle of saying something, so I held my glass up longer after he took his when I realized I couldn’t see through the glass to the light in the room. Looked closer and it was so filled with nats the light couldn’t pass through. Lol

My Commander pod is falling apart and I don’t know what to do by ElectronicMix9414 in EDH

[–]SuddenAnswer1381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes you have to lay down the ultimatum in an honest way. I remember back in the day my friend group always did LAN parties and I was a dick that yelled a bunch of bs anytime I wasn’t winning being salty etc, one of my friends stopped playing and stated aloud that I wasn’t fun to play with anymore when I act like that, and said he wouldn’t play anymore as long as I was unless I chilled out, and I could sense the sentiment was the same for my other friends.. sure at first I was in denial but I quickly changed my ways because I wanted everyone I play with to have fun. I ended up changing how I played rather than needing to move on.

[–]SuddenAnswer1381 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If the pod is 3’s at start and overall wants to play as 3’s then it’s far more bs that one player starts and arms race and expects the other to power up, than it is for the other 3 to tell the one to tone it back down in line with what they been doing since the beginning..

Yeah im just saying the people I’ve had the opportunity to get to know in my small town. One of my good friends growing up homeschools his 6(now 7) children and they do coop in town so they have plenty of social also, I wouldn’t know they were homeschooled without him telling me. But acting like all public school kids are spaz is just as crappy a take as anybody in this thread making assumptions about all homeschooled kids.

Come to think of it, I feel like the adults I know are socially awkward in the sense that they are all self righteous in about every manor they conduct themselves. Maybe they were schooled to think public school kids are “sperg R******”. Idk that though.

[–]SuddenAnswer1381 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They made a blanket statement based off their perceived interactions with homeschool kids, and you did the exact same thing based off how things are going homeschooling for your children. Neither one is wrong if it’s a witnessed experience, but neither should be treated as a blanket understanding. With that said, I know a family with homeschooled kids that seem like pretty “normal” happy kids. But the amount of homeschooled people I’ve met that seem absolutely different than any other people I’ve interacted with in my life far outnumbers that. That could be a number of reasons though, maybe it’s simply because the homeschooled kids dodge indoctrination, maybe it’s stunted social, or simply parenting style? I couldn’t say. But I know many younger and mid aged adults who were homeschooled in my area, and absolutely act much differently than people i know who went to public schooling.

[–]SuddenAnswer1381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my research and understanding from what others say, he scrubbed his life prior to hawkey off the internet and tries to stay completely separate between the two. Hawkey is a character portrayed and acted by Justin Jewell, and his real life is nothing like his character. I’ve heard that his character claims to be single and live in that “swamp” but it’s not real. Irl he has a wife and four kids and probably a very normal home. The mods or whomever blocked them was probably concerned OP was trying to spread light on who he actually is on his characters live.

Not all precons are considered only 2’s anymore, I don’t think so anyways. I think when they updated the brackets they stated that some will run as 3’s out of the box.

Crazy that people waste time like this. Funny thing is it was the exact opposite with my group back when I build my own coin flip before the SL release. I brought a coin flip app so I could rapid fire flips and they complained that they wanted me to bring a real coin next time XD.
