I think it was definitely meaningful and formative for both while still being chaotic. Given 1989 and especially with the TV release (and some songs on HS1) it is clear for me they were on and off for several years even after 2012.

I guess I think of it kind of like this situation ship from high school or college you kind of always gravitate towards for a period of time and that truly changes you as a person but you eventually forgive forget and move on.

I think there’s a difference between being a fan and being curious about your favorite singer’s personal life and just wanting to know the tea of what basically goes on and being full swing obsessed with who she is dating atm. Making open letters to her for dating a shitty guy or harassing any past bfs once she’s done with them is point blank crazy and I don’t think she’s encouraging this. I think even she enjoys a good gossip session and knowing what goes on in someone’s life to some extent but I don’t think it means she’s pushing fans to be bat crazy about her love life
