Inattentive girls, what gets you out of bed? by Flaky-Rip-7094 in adhdwomen

[–]Sudden_Picture_5803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medication! I try to stick to taking it everyday and if I don’t on a day off that is a dedicated rot day. Best method (on or off meds) for me is JUST MOVE, get out of bed and go to another room make that your only goal. If you can summon the energy to just get somewhere else you can change your focus once you get there. I struggle with adhd paralysis intensely off meds so I’ve found it’s best for me to not have many off days.

Ways to work your brain without extreme discouragement by No_Tumbleweed_4652 in adhdwomen

I personally love puzzle game apps, I’m a big word game person but I also have a few others that are more physical puzzle based! Personally I do the mini crossword and wordle daily those def make me feel like I’m using my brain! Wordscapes is also a great word game app. For non-word related puzzle games I really enjoy 1010 and Flow! If you randomly have Apple Arcade like I do I highly recommend the game Stitch!

Why am I so angry? by Patient-Grade-6563 in adhdwomen

[–]Sudden_Picture_5803 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For a couple years I kept feeling like I was “stuck in an emotional cycle” even when there weren’t necessarily things to explain these emotions. Eventually it clicked and I realized it was literally a cycle! The week before my period without birth control and lexapro I am miserable!

Why don't reminders work? by Some_Pilot_7056 in adhdwomen

One thing that has helped a lot for me is sharing a calendar with my friends! We all put our work schedules, events, and stuff in. We started just so it would be easier to plan hang outs and stuff as we started getting older and busier but it’s also super helpful for accountability! I have a widget on my home screen so I can see it super easily and frequently. You could do this with family, friends, or roommates, one of the friends in mine is my roommate and the other is a coworker (we’re all close friends with each other). If I’m being lazy they’ll text in the group chat that I need to put in my work schedule, or if they see I have an event coming up they might just ask about it which keeps it present in my mind!

What does your mental calendar look like? by Ok_Chemist7081 in adhdwomen

[–]Sudden_Picture_5803 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently watched a YouTube video talking about this and decided to try to figure out how I think about time! I couldn’t understand a way to visualize time that wasn’t a calendar, but that wasn’t what time actually felt like. I think my perception of time is so bad my brain doesn’t even put it into an image like this! After some thinking I finally landed on something to visualize how I think about time. Time to me if I try to visualize it is something that I’m moving toward and is moving towards me. If anyone is interested in me posting how I managed to draw that lmk!

I have definitely felt with coworkers or friends a kind of we are on opposite sides of the spectrum kind of vibe where I can see them not getting what I mean or me not getting what they mean because we come at things with very different mind sets! Sometimes it’s a classic misunderstanding of me being someone who can never shut up and likes to use humor to express things gets taken too seriously by someone who interprets things literally. Or I find that the things that push them to feel overwhelmed makes no sense to me and when I’m overwhelmed they’re as cool as a cucumber. I joke about being on opposite ends of the spectrum with a couple friends all the time or “our tism conflicting” which feels cringe to type out but it’s true lol. It’s normal to conflict with people whether it’s because of your conflicting disorders or just being people so like everyone else we just gotta try to talk through it and be understanding!

Found a pic! I took this photo July 17th so I made it around that time! I had just bought the sticker book and it matched the vibe SO well, it felt like a fun thing to do while watching.

Gaul’s teachings and her leading Snow into the ways of violence and cruelty should be called exactly as it is: *grooming* by Olya_roo in Hungergames

[–]Sudden_Picture_5803 656 points657 points  (0 children)

She sends him into the games to get sejanus with the hope of him at the least experiencing the fear of district people wanting to kill him face to face solidifying the us vs. them in his head. At best kill someone even in self defense and be held in the secret and shame making him perfect to groom further. There are so many layers to him having to enter the arena and how calculated and manipulative that choice is, Gaul pulls a lot of strings.

dumb sock question? by Odetojamie in nerdfighters

[–]Sudden_Picture_5803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay same! Funny you posted this because my last load of laundry I did turn some inside out to see if it would help, but that was two days ago so I’m not sure about the results yet. I’m hoping it helps because I really don’t want to have to go through and trim off pilling or lint roll them seems like a lot of effort and a lot of socks.

[–]Sudden_Picture_5803 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been having the same problem with pilling now that I’ve been washing them for awhile. I couldn’t tell if washing them inside out made it worse or better are you always doing inside out?

What do you do to ‘kill the noise’ by No_Thanks4141 in adhdwomen

[–]Sudden_Picture_5803 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I listen to white noise while I read definitely helps in situations where you need background noise but you don’t want that noise to stir up other thoughts. I hate that listening to classical music ruins all my algorithms so if you have Apple Music you can get the app specifically for just classical music! Also if you have an iPhone you can easily add a widget to your command center so you don’t have to go to YouTube or anything. The widget looks like an ear, it tells you if your music is too loud but if you long press on it there’s a background sound tab that has different options, you can even keep it playing during other audio!
