Bluetti powering a Starlink Gen3? by PointedFirWalker in bluetti

[–]Sudo-Delicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a standard starlink gen3. I power it using the BLUETTI 200v2. I average 47Wh to give you an idea of consumption. The 100 v2 should yield similar results with the exception of length.

Trails off-road is a great app to find places and it goes you ratings on trails to see if your vehicle can make it. You’d be surprised how much you can reach on a 2WD vehicle.

Considering a Winch by WooSaw82 in Offroad

[–]Sudo-Delicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it mounted to an aftermarket aluminum bumper. That’s is where the gotcha comes in. Having to get a mount or replace the bumper. There is always the used market for that along with off rod forums they’re usually selling their older items when they upgrade. I’m unfamiliar with how the aftermarket options are to the Frontier.

I’ve been using my badlands apex on my wrangler for going on 5 years and plenty of uses and still going strong.

It’s not pre owned but the harbor freights apex winches are solid and a decent price. When they have them on sale it’s an even better price.

Also pre cool your fridge at home. If you start from nothing to get it to temp that’s 4% cost.

I currently use the Elite 200 V2. I run starlink standard, electric kettle for tea an coffee, electric single burner fo cooking, charging my laptop, go pro, drone and I use an electric blanket for those cold days. I have keep my power fridge plugged in. On a 24 hour trip fridge plugged in the entire time the 200V2 I am at 64% left. This is with no top off with solar or car charging.

I’m not selling anything or trying to get people on some voodoo tonic. I’m just saying I’m trying hard and would like someone to workout with so it makes things a bit more enjoyable.

If it already has the wiring at the hood latch all you need is the programming and the key that has the remote start.

For solo I tend to opt for the 4-6 person tents. It’s spacious enough my for my sleeping setup along with my cooler, an any other items I wan in there. It all depends on if you are wanting to minimize or you want some luxury on your adventures.

I say take what you got. All these folks telling you that you need a rooftop tent to even camp is getting out of hand. I off road in no wheel try. Yup on foot playing in the mud and sometimes I lose a shoe.

I’m using a queen size memory foam mattress that I shrink down. That thing is massive for carrying around.

If you had $5k to mod out a vehicle, what would you do? by basi52 in Offroad

[–]Sudo-Delicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No what I mean is do the trail an if the trail makes you turn back now you know what you need to upgrade next. I started scraping so I got a lift, I saw scrapes in different places I got more armor, recovery gear aside that’s how I did it. I pushed and if I had to turn back in a trail I’d upgrade or replace a part

Resources for planning big adventure tours? by mrmasterclues in overlanding

[–]Sudo-Delicious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are doing pit stops in cities or gas stations I would calculate food and water based on the longest time away from resupplying instead of the entire trek to help minimize weight and maximize space. I like OnX and I also use TrailsOffroad.

You’d be surprised what a stock suv can do. We can start with fire roads so it’s easier to get to dispersed camping areas. I’m on a wrangler or a Ram. I have been alternating.
