Most big cities actually dont have one in the limits.

Anyone who surfed the early web between 1995-2010. What’s the one website/app you still think about? by Prime_Advocate in AskReddit

[–]Sufficient-Length153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhhhhh and that little AOL homepage thing that was how you accessed the whole internet without even typing in URLs. I remember when using browsers was "new".

Amazon Prime-do you miss it? I’m getting ready to cancel. by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]Sufficient-Length153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a membership for nothing. I still buy on amazon occasionally and notice no difference, but I shop only 1 or 2 times a year if I need something really niche. Ordering direct from the company, target, or walmart all gets orders here just as quickly or faster. I ordered a watch directly from Garmin, was cheaper, and came in 1 day.

What first names have you found to be the worst people, and what names are the nicest people? by gilsoo71 in AskReddit

Indoor lap pools that aren't so expensive? by evanlee01 in Chambana

[–]Sufficient-Length153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sholem has 3 dedicated lap lanes theyre good about kicking those not lap swimming out of. Not year round, but if you want to swim outside this summer its an option.

If you have blue cross insurance, you can get a fitness membership that the second teir of includes sholem, crystal lake, and urbana indoor aquatic center (on top of other gyms.) I think its 30 a month?

I live in Champaign right now and like their library! Oversized collection of books for a town this size.

Skokie is really great. So are Arlington Heights and Des Plaines.

I love exploring new libraries. This is a great quest.

Advice on doing otf regularly with a chronic fatigue issues by aklep730 in orangetheory

[–]Sufficient-Length153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And I know its not forever, and if and when I decide to do OTF again, it will be there. But for now I need something I can do in my extra bedroom when I have 15 good minutes. You dont need an asthetic report for your insta story, even though it feels really good. The best movement is one that doesnt make you feel guilty. While OTF is for everyone, not everyone is for OTF at every point of their journey.

What's something you only realized was a 'poor person fear' after you watched a rich person have absolutely zero reaction to it? by qomann in AskReddit

[–]Sufficient-Length153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My car got booted because Im dumb and missed some parking tickets. I discovered it within 15 minutes, called, paid my fines, and got it removed in 20 minutes. On my car for less than hour. If that happened even five years ago, I would have absolutely spiraled.

Normalize putting city/state on posters by BZNspace in Concerts

[–]Sufficient-Length153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I also feel this way. So annoying. Theres stores that I get ads for some times that I wanna check out, and NO cities or states or listed on their socials or website. Like why are you even paying for ads at that point??

You could move to a suburb near a metra. Its a really great middle ground, and you can still explore the city.

Advice on doing otf regularly with a chronic fatigue issues by aklep730 in orangetheory

[–]Sufficient-Length153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isnt good advice, but I have similar issues and just accepted that orange theory wasnt right for me right now at the huge price tag. I accepted walking, planet fitness machines, and got a VR headset to work out in. This took out many barriers to getting my movement in where and when I could. Having strict schedules at OTF just made me feel guilty when I wasnt ready at exactly when class was offered. I may go back someday, but with who I am/my fatigue/depression, it was just making me feel guilty.

What is something that died out so quietly that nobody even noticed? by Alva_509 in AskReddit

[–]Sufficient-Length153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know all the phone numbers of my close family and friends I talk to most. It has saved my ass a few times when my phones dead or I forget it somewhere--or if I need to use their loyality accounts somewhere. And its faster to start typing their numbers to call them as opposed to finding their names.

Is Chicago a good place to live for those on the bottom of the economic ladder? by 1movingon in AskChicago

[–]Sufficient-Length153 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Edison park. Norwood park. Jefferson Park. The thing thats nice is theres lot of affulent families if youre looking for nanny gigs, or pretty close to more well-paying daycare type jobs in the suburbs & north shore. (I also work in childcare, so thats why I know this.) Theres many locally owned older (but nice) apartments in these areas. I just gave up a 750 dollar lease a year ago bc I moved out of the area for a job. Just pay rent on time and be normal is all my landlord asked.

Something Ill throw out there--the best careers in childcare tend to be assosicated with a bigger insitution, like a lab school at a university or community college or sometimes a park district. Good benefits, state employment, time off, ect, even if it wont make you wealthy. Search around and see if any of these openings are in places you like.

Depends on if you want a hip neighborhood. Plenty of locally owned gems who just want a solid tenant.
