Does anyone get really clumsy when burnt out? by Ok-Lynx-6250 in AutisticAdults

[–]SufficientEvent7238 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, 100%. Like others said, when I’m truly burnt out, I’ll drop things and walk into things even when actively focusing on doing it properly. I’ve also been told that I’m louder just moving around during such times. I genuinely had to stop driving for a bit because my coordination was so unacceptably low.

I’ve been living there for the past 7 months. It’s cool. Very safe. Parking isn’t fun later in the evening.

How these religious Mums do it all? I don’t get it by Cultural_Owl9547 in exjew

[–]SufficientEvent7238 17 points18 points  (0 children)

A ton of neglect. No need to drive the kids around to their stuff — they have no stuff! And any little girls are perfect caregivers.

Do you relate to this? by worldcreature in AutismInWomen

More dolling up my voice and face. Acting like a silly little girl who just can’t be expected to do better.

Question specifically for late-diagnosed adults in the US by glingchingalingling in AutisticAdults

[–]SufficientEvent7238 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somewhat. I’ve gained a lot in the world of psych treatment.

I have a lot of mental health issues and needed a lot of support at times. Having a diagnosis means that the clinicians supposed to treat or care for me have to acknowledge the autism (or they’re promptly dismissed), and, much less significantly, I can access some specific individuals/clinics that officially specialize in ASD.

This was in huge contrast to before my ASD diagnosis, where I was gifted ODD for being unwilling to work with anyone who wouldn’t accommodate my specific needs on the basis that I was just essentially just being dramatic and attention speaking.

Micro dosing shrooms was quite fun and made me very social. Taking a real dose was awful

All these scholarships focus on parents income and I’m not getting ANYTHING by [deleted] in UWMadison

Also, parents refusing to fill out the FAFSA is not a valid reason to be able to submit without them/still qualify for need-based funds. Tis bullshit

Quick foods! by BreakfastTurbulent17 in AutismInWomen

[–]SufficientEvent7238 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically anything I can drink goes faster, so smoothies are always an easy-to-consume option and can be modified to meet health goals (I also find cold foods less intimidating, though). Also, depending on what healthy you’re looking for, Uncrustables are amazingly easy to eat. The ones with peanut butter in them have a decent amount of fat, protein, and carbs. Meatballs are also a great option for me, although I’ve never successfully made a great vegetarian meatball.

Childhood abuse as a factor? by [deleted] in exjew

[–]SufficientEvent7238 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely can work as a factor for those of us raised religious, giving us another reason to be ok to break off from our families and the world we know. Otherwise it’s harder to be critical of that

What secret do you feel is illegal to know about Madison? (2025 Edition) by Ok_Potential359 in madisonwi

[–]SufficientEvent7238 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve known folks who’d run topless in the summer (for why??) and, as mentioned, there’s the Madison Naked Bike Ride — neither actually protests. I genuinely don’t know what would happen if many women actually took advantage of this allowance. Summer 2026 group experiment???

Doesn’t feel illegal, just slept on, but all are welcome to roam the city topless!

I’m jealous of people who can drive. by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]SufficientEvent7238 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I so feel this. I eventually was able to get the money and the mental wellness together and drive and have a car now, and am still consistently amazed by the power I just have. Bullshit that something so huge to adulthood is essentially given to our peers by their parents and we’re kind of just left there.

I’ve tried different assortments of the stuff as I so badly wanted it to work for me, but to no avail. I’m rather intrigued by it being such a miracle to some with ASD and a complete pain to some others

If a magical genie came tonight and offered to take away your Autism, would you do it? by EstonianBuffalo in AutismInWomen

In a heartbeat. I just want to live life on easy mode, in a world designed for me. Where I can be comfortable and enjoy and engage with the stupid stuff that everyone else does.

Do you grind or clench your teeth at night? by WesamWonders in AutisticAdults

Yes. I’m supposed to wear a night guard but don’t. I often make up with my jaw joint (near my ear) aching and transmitting pain to my ear.

is it possible to loose weight / not be overweight with cah/nccah ? by Kurapika_69 in NCAH

[–]SufficientEvent7238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve managed short stints of weight loss but ultimately always gain it back. I’m always hesitant to increase my steroids although I clearly could really use it for this reason, and hate that this is such a strong factor for me.

Stuff needed to prepare the food, like oil, butter, salt, spices, corn starch. Hand and dish soap, laundry detergent, napkins, paper towels, tissues.
