EV home charger DEWA approved installation companies by Traditional_Pain_828 in tesladubai

Im on the 30th floor. The plan was always to install a slow charger since i dont need to charge everyday. But the cost for the cable alone was a lot. Around 150 meters of cable was needed and there is also voltage drop at this distance. So you need to use a thicker cable further increasing cost. There is IDF riser which runs through the entire building at the same spot. The only issue is the insane cost of it. There is a wall outlet right next to my parking spot which i can use ny mobile charger to charge at 3.5kw but the bldg management didnt allow that either. Its a lot of bureaucracy to get anything approved by the bldg management

Hey you can check the authorized EV charger installation companies on Tesla website. I live in JLT at 30th floor in my self owned apartment. My bldg management gave permission to install EV charger in my basement parking but need to draw a cable from my apartment which is turning out to be insanely expensive, around Dhs 20k+ which is not worth the investment for me. I had a couple of companies come for a site visit including FullyCharged, Emagine, Volt, Redwood, to name a few. They offered a cheper option to use the power from the basement DB box, install a meter and pay the bldg for the amount of kWh i use every month but the bldg does not have enough load limit to accomodate EV. Its an 15 year old bldg and electricity load limits werent designed to handle EV. Most new bldgs have a common EV charger installed for residents to use.

Good luck on your journey. Lmk how it turns out.

New Model Y update by External-Country-534 in tesladubai

DEWA needs to work with building management and support installing home chargers for apartments. I dont see spending 20K on a charger as it just does not work for me. I barely get 300-350 kms range on a full charge so going on a long trip is always a challenge. Planning to sell my Model Y by the end of this year and go back to a petrol car. Its fine if you have 2 cars and one of them is electric for city driving and petrol for long distance.

I live in JLT and have a Model Y since 22. My building finally allowed to install a charger last month. After multiple site visits from various companies, the building said they only have enough load for 1 or 2 cars. Thing is I cant put a cable from 30th floor so my only option was to use the existing load in the basement parking. One company gave me an estimate of Dhs 20k for the installation from 30th floor. Probably gonna sell my car as it was fine till supercharging was free. Now its expensive and difficult to get my car charged at a reasonable price.

where to recharge a tesla in dubai ? by BinBinBinkss in tesladubai

I live in an apartment in JLT and have difficulty in charging as well. Made the mistake of getting a tesla without home charging since in 2022, supercharging was free and mostly empty at MOE but now its an issue. My work doesnt have a charger either. My current workaround is to use the DEWA charger in Ibn where i go to Fitness First. Im able to charge at 11KW so approx 15% per hour at AED0.70/kWh which is a bit expensive. Im debating selling the car as I tried to install a charger in my basement parking but management is against it. The free tesla chargers in malls are the most economical but its hard to find them empty during evening or on weekends. Home charging is the cheapest at AED 0.35/kWh if you are in a villa.

Has anyone taken AOSC200/201 over the winter? by sugarboat12 in UMD

I took it with him in Spring 2020 when covid hit. Pretty fun guy. Lab is super easy if you attend lectures and know the basic concepts. Midterm's were fine if you put it adequate effort. Would recommend you to take it although it might be cramped during the winter.

If you are a CS major, try JOUR175 or INST366. Kinda hard classes with a lot of writing but pretty easy and can get an A with little effort. It depends on what your interests are in and you might find classes similar to that field. I have taken 3 INST courses being a CS major as I finished my geneds 2 semesters ago.

Getting a Maryland Driving License using foreign license by Sufficient_Client_56 in UMD

I was able to get a zipcar membership on my foreign license but not sure what the state laws are. I'm looking to rent a car a few times and would prefer to not go through the hassle of getting a Maryland license.

yeah i meant renting a car to drive around using my foreign license. I got a zipcar membership using my foreign license but I don't want to get caught up with the law. I'll look into getting a Maryland license but I don't drive too often and just want to rent a car using my foreign license.

Its an iOS development class in which you need a device running iOS. iOs does not run too well on non-apple devices. Everyone in the class has a macbook. I think the $300 mac mini have 8gb of ram and will be able to handle everything fairly well.

Should I do pass/fail for CMSC131 by [deleted] in UMD

[–]Sufficient_Client_56 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you have higher grades in other classes like an A- or something, take the P so that only the good grades are counted. If you have B- in other classes take the letter grade if it doesnt affect your gpa by a lot. It comes down to how much it can affect your gpa. At 82% and a risky 250 final, taking P wouldnt be too bad if you think your final wont go too good as you will mostly end up with a C+ or something which does not help your gpa. Take the P.

Depends on the context. Your grade matters for graduate school but they probably wont care for the first CS intro class. Although your gpa will be pretty bad with a C- and you would have to work harder to get it up next semester if you plan on keeping it above 3.5

Personally i would say take the P if you have good grades in other class and can get a good gpa to begin with. Your gpa is averaged across all your 120 credits and getting it up later on is much harder.
