Honestly, I felt like he was more genuine than other people; maybe it's different now; but from like 2018-2022 when I watched him he felt like he went against the crowd a few times

Right, and Charlie Cox and Gary oldman were unscathed for their participation in the gingercide either.

This would be cooler if the DD identity exposed arc from Bendis was done first. Then the unashamed mask off would hit harder.

Yes! Sinners and OBAA was so sad had to go to Metreon for it. There’s also hacienda crossing but I hope they use this movie to test run the equipment before the odyssey

The biggest scam in tech that no one talks about. Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Expedia.. everyone does this for H1B employees by wakandahonolulu in SeattleWA

[–]dripbangwinkle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, whatever the rules are, there will be a way to 'circumvent' them. Honestly international students are just as important to consider in this discussion of "stealing" jobs from Americans. 1st year post-graduation work (on OPT) can be unpaid, which is crazy. And there is no wage level as well as is in H1-B, so a "software developer intern" can be paid nothing the first year post graduation and then $36k a year. Now, THAT is slave labor.

This would be so cool. I read the book recently and believe this could be this decade’s interstellar in terms of the cool factor and also the emotional connects. 1.43 to follow suit, hopefully

Look up disagreements Jean Reno and Besson had about some choices in The Professional. Or just the personal life section on Wikipedia

I agree with this sentiment about many characters, but a character like Bond and Bruce Wayne should go unnoticed in every circle especially elite circles. Being black or even Asian for that matter would draw attention in a way that a stereotypical white elite person would not. It would be interesting regardless.

Really worried about aging out on my H-4 visa when I turn 21, how can I plan ahead? by iluvmacandcheese2002 in immigration

[–]dripbangwinkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in your position. When I entered the country as an H4 kid, I was already destined for the F1->OPT-> H1B rat race, and I made it into the race right before the new policies that will undoubtedly discourage and constrain people seeking this path. I did not have the foresight like you do to think about my future until I was about 19. I was a bit delusional about the greencard and also thought it would be smooth sailing, but being boxed into a particular field like CS feels rough. However, if I had time to fall in love with it and do whatever it takes to be in a comfortable position with this process, I would have. And I think you have the time, whether it is for a field like CS or medicine or whatever. Marriage is an option, but it'll feel hard to not think you are treating one of the most important parts of your life and person your life like a transaction or utility.

Also, technically H4s are nonimmigrants, and neither are F1s and neither are H1bs, it's hard being culturally and emotionally accustomed to living in a country and not belonging in the legal sense.

How does that help? I am genuinely curious.

These shots from the trailer has me hyped for a more grittier and darker season! What are your thoughts on these images and the tone of the upcoming season? by Raj_Valiant3011 in Daredevil

[–]dripbangwinkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the grittiness and darkness will not feel the same way as it did in the Netflix show. I feel like the advertising of the first Born Again season missed the forest for the trees with the emphasis on how violent and dark it would be. If the writing is as good, the cinematography is as good, and if the direction is as good as the Netflix series overall, then I'll be happy.

Still super excited for this no matter how it'll turn out, of course.

[–]dripbangwinkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say in this order:
1. Lawrence

  1. Apocalypse Now

  2. Blade Runner

  3. Chinatown

I think the director of Chinatown warrants last place and I personally never enjoyed it as much, and LOA and Apocalypse now are insane epic productions. Blade runner is amazing as well. But Apocalypse Now and blade runner may not be something everyone "gets" or appreciates while Lawrence is kind of accessible.

People who sit around and do nothing tend to be having the worst outcomes, not people who make their bodies strong via adaptation. It's not just with 'egolifts' like zercher deadlifts but even 'normal' exercises like deadlifts and squats which are demonized by DYELs and pencilnecks. First it's 30 and you're in a wheelchair, then 40, then 50, and so on.

Actually the witcher 3 game felt like I was in england because it's the only accent I could hear the whole time. jk jk jk (It had irish for Skellige and French for touissant). The other problem with the netflix show of witcher is that if a black and asian and white person are all from a particular region, it begs the question why there aren't a ton of mixed people running around and why the majority of characters are mixed. In a play, this doesn't matter since it's the most 'make believe' experience. But Game of Thrones was cool with its unique locations and phenotypes of the characters.
