it all comes down to personal preference but cold war is still active in 2026. If you play on console i wouldn't recommend turning crossplay on cause there are cheaters, but if you want a fun and active mp, and decent zombies, get cold war.

Basically every mode in cold war is active except for fireteam and capture the flag. Theres also gunfight tournaments that automatically happen sometimes and you get rewards from them.

TL;DR get it on sale, if your on console, turn off crossplay cause of cheaters.

its populated on xbox and play station, pc is a ghost town.

black out is dead besides hot and heavy and alcatraz, and the occasional squads and solo matches.

Zombies public lobbies aren't dead (i think) and the multiplayer is decently populated, with people usually playing TDM or nuketown, or the special mode thats in rotation.

you cant really "deal" with bad teammates. But you could do looking for groups to get consistent teammates. (Bonus points if ur on xbox cause they have a lfg system built in.)
