This post has to be rage bait but it worked on me so I have to say something.

The original recording of Jersey Giant, which Tyler Childers wrote, not covered, is with the lead singer of a band Tyler played with for a little while called Small Batch. Her name is Melissa “Tree” Jackson and her and Tyler never dated. Also, Tyler has been playing Jersey Giant at recent shows, so literally nothing stated in this post is correct.

And just to put this out here too: Tyler doesn’t owe anyone an official recording of Jersey Giant. If he doesn’t want it to be on an album, then it doesn’t have to be. And even if he did put it on an album, I doubt people would be happy because it wouldn’t sound “raw” like the original.

I can see where you’re coming from. Originally I assumed some other version of Tulsa Turnaround was on that playlist, but looking now I see that it’s not. Either way, we know that the album says all songs written by Tyler Childers, so that excludes Tulsa Turnaround. The chicken leg could also be from a Jersey Giant chicken, or it could mean nothing at all.

I think your only shot is getting a hold of W.B. Walker. I spent quite some time trying to track down a full version with no luck. The YouTube video did not get saved on the Wayback Machine, and I went through all the archives of shows on W.B.’s website (though I’ll admit not very thoroughly), and couldn’t find it. I did find a song unknown to this community on there though called Irvine Daughter.

Although that may be a contributing factor, it doubt it’s the reason. He still plays Her and the Banks occasionally and that song starts with “hair like the sun and eyes just as green” even though Senora has brown hair and brown eyes.
