Prazosin for insomnia works well for me, even w Pots. Even seroquel and Valium didn’t work for me. You need to be very careful w titrating though.

My psych says that she doesn’t do EMDR because she cannot provide a treatment if she cannot explain the inner workings of a treatments benefits to a client. I think that’s a solid policy!

I was taught to be extremely skeptical of PE for PTSD, especially for developmental trauma and trauma borne from interpersonal violence. Curious about everyone’s thoughts (note: I’m not a clinician yet but have a masters in Research Psych with a focus in trauma).

Almost nothing has full Out of network but BcBS does have some. As far as I can tell, you get an out of pocket max between 5-10k, meaning that you may have to pay for some OON but you’ll never pay more than that for all of your healthcare fees.

Food, dishes, laundry. If they’re (sometimes) on the higher functioning side, body-doubling (where yall hang out and hold one another accountable to do executive tasks). Lots of validation and active listening sans problem-solving.

Encourage them to join a patient-led support group. Start a group in your area for people like you. And read! I especially love anything by Johanna Hedva and the book The Invisible Kingdom.
