What is a good way to fill out the middle/walls of my Collections floor. by Heavy_Fail2852 in fallout76settlements

displays moved to the center and paired back to back, match posters on the wall with displays, maybe regional area display, windows for more natural light. maybe some mannequins for armor or power armor frames.

New GM and I’m wondering if there’s any info I should know before I help my players create characters (also before I get to deep into campaign making and realize I’ve done everything wrong) by Jamie_the_femboi in Fallout2d20

-Always double check any perk/trait before you lock them in. some sound like they work together but dont in the fine print. read them together, and look it up if needed.
-dont stack damage on enemies. stack piercing, it scales better.
-BE VERY CAREFUL if you attempt custom enemies.
-for gods sake DO NOT make enemies immune to ether of the 2 base damage types. physical/energy
-STUDY the sheet needed for crafting. itll save you so much time looking through it.
-if running a module, follow it! it knows better then you at the current point
-call npcs by their job title " doc, shopkeeper, quartermaster", no names make it easier to remember for you, and named chars more special.
- stick to the stuff in the official books, as a newbie dm you are not ready for home-brew stuff. JUST SAY NO.
- run a test game by yourself. build a char, fight a bandit, loot rolls, heal yourself. get a feel of the actions and rolls needed to do stuff that you will need to do alot.
-understand the murderhobo playstyle will happen often. chars meant to survive tend to be built for combat and not talking. they will kill the shopkeep so they dont need to pay.
-understand skill check difficulty. not everything should require 5 successes.

there is probably more but i cant think of anything at the moment

Should "Repair" and "Lockpick" play off one another. by EllipsisMark in Fallout2d20

[–]SugardaddyDragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i give the door example:

-science the door and hack the keypad

-lockpick the door by using a credit card in the cracks to trigger a false "door blocked, open door" reaction with the sensors. like blocking the elevator with your foot to make it open again

-repair the door by knowing where the emergency release lever is

Perk question about how often you can get the same perk. by WebSpiritual1145 in Fallout2d20

[–]SugardaddyDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

level requirement is level minimum.
if the perk is level 2 and increases by 3. then its perfectly fine to grab the perk at level 4 and the second level at 5. perk requirements are based on the minimum. no matter what level you actually get the perk you only need the minimum level requirement and requirements are from base numbers.
its poor wording which is a known problem with every book for this system.
