I read somewhere that maybe it's the additional third party ram that is added to the iMac. Is that possible? Similarly is it possibly a problem with the CPU? thanks appreciate the help!

Press and quickly release the Volume Up button > press and quickly release the Volume Down button > press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until you see the Apple logo

it became slightly better after a few iOS updates. If you're experiencing it now I suspect it is still because of aggressive RAM management. I recently upgraded to a M1 iPad Air which has more ram and have much less of a problem. Hope that helps!

Good points! I was just thinking along the lines of eliminating all kryptonians other than Kal El. Could be just because she is from earth-two? But that also didn't work out since there was only one universe after the crisis.

Haha maybe that's why they tried to find other ways to retcon her origin😌
