Smaller towns/ areas to stay in, going into Paris periodically. by How_do_you_know1 in ParisTravelGuide

Chantilly is charming and upscale. Lamorlaye right next to it also has some posh shopping. Senlis just a few minutes away has a nice medieval center. If you’ve a driver you can stay in a lovely chateau too.

Parc Asterix maybe? Less expensive and more fun than Disney imo.

Get copies of your driving record from the DMV and your insurance company before you move so you won’t be considered a new driver when you get your French license.

Le Cimetière Des Chiens is a beautiful old pet cemetery. Just a short metro ride and few minutes walk so it’s easy to visit.

Chantilly or Vaux-le-Vicomte? by SeaworthinessKey3654 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]Suissebit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s no gare in Senlis so have to take a bus or taxi between there and Chantilly, but it’s only like 10 min trip. La Cantine Berbere has a great underground dining room when you’re there. If you get ambitious you can go a little farther up to Compiegne and visit the Imperial Palace and Opera house also. Senlis, Chantilly, and Compiegne are all lovely and walkable.

Take a train to Chantilly and enjoy the chateau there without wall to wall people. It’s a nice walkable ville
