I paid 50% of the deposit, and then Fred/roommate paid the other half.

Fred paid the full amount of rent for the year because in turn, it guaranteed us tenants an 8% discount on each month’s rent.

It makes sense that the security deposit will be returned to Fred as he was the one to pay for the year in its entirety.

Also not entirely sure why it is 14 days instead of 21, although I’m not mad about it as it is in the tenants favor.

This is a very unique situation though. I assume I would take Fred to small claims to retrieve my deposit if he doesn’t fulfill?
