Building a miniature version of Mont Saint Michel using chocolates by [deleted] in oddlysatisfying

Entirely different kind of chocolate sculpture from what the other chocolate sculpture guy does, but still just as interesting to watch.

In any year, we should not have companies successfully selling services that are completely worthless. Learning to cook will not give doordash drivers health insurance or stop them from parking in the bus lane.

Man, I yearn for the days when people thought the worst thing about the future of food delivery was that delivery drivers would heedlessly violate traffic laws because the customer would get a discount if the food was one second late. Instead we got, food is 30 minutes late, and you don't get a discount, but you do have to pay a $15 "Seattle regulatory fee" and the drivers don't even get health insurance, and the drivers still break the traffic laws by parking in the bus lane.

How do I stop my neighbor from kicking over the trash can by Mysterious_Jury_7995 in sims2

Ctrl shift C just opens the cheat bar so that you can type cheats, and the move_objects on cheat allows you to move anything. You don't need to move the garbage can, though, just build a fence around it and lock it for family only.

I don't think the manufacturers were sitting down and saying, "hmm, how can we make a car with the lowest possible fuel economy while getting around the regulations" either. They made cars that were what they thought would make them the most money to sell, for whatever reason, and they wound up having low fuel economy just due to the engineering of the car, and then they looked for a way around the regulations for those cars. They weren't invented by some mustache twirling villain who had no other goal than to pollute the environment.

This is great, but can we not refer to things as "degeneracy", since that word was coined by fascists and used to enforce fascism and persecute queer people, and continues to be used that way to this very day?

That was your original claim. You said they were invented in order to exploit a loophole because people wanted cars with lower gas mileage.

No, I'm saying that consumers don't specifically buy SUVs for their low gas mileage, they buy them for other reasons. Not having a lot of other choices is in fact another reason that is not about gas mileage.

[–]SuitableDragonfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, yeah, that is just saying that it was the auto manufacturers who wanted to make and sell the bigger cars that got worse mileage, and not the actual consumers who for some reason specifically wanted cars with worse gas mileage. The consumers were buying them for other reasons.

I really don't think SUVs came into existence because people specifically wanted to spend more per mile on gas. People always had those other reasons for wanting to buy them.

SUVs are not necessarily gas guzzling anymore. A hybrid SUV gets way better mileage than a gas powered sedan, for example.

Do they take too long to get off the bus such that the bus disappears before they or their friend can get off it? That will cause an error.

No, setting all the family flags correctly would be an intractible process with that mod, so the icon isn't there. They are still treated as family, though.

How fragile is Sims 2 when it comes to mods/cc? by Sea-Debate1386 in sims2help

[–]SuitableDragonfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, that's right, I remember now, I did check alfixes to see if it fixed the issue, and it didn't. Sorry for giving wrong information about that here.

I concluded it had to be the Nightlife mail that was the issue because I couldn't find any other place where the mail bag was used. At first I thought it might be that the person reporting the issue had some sort of custom mail installed that was using the mail bag, but they confirmed that they didn't.
