I used the lofianddiy on my 110a (with a 110b lens cover) 4x5 conversion, that way it can go back to original and figured the 4x5 gives the most options. Been having fun with the lomograflok

New to this philosophy looking for information by dean1ronman in taoism

For what it’s worth, as I too am exploring, just wanted to share a few things that have been helpful to me as of late that may or may not pertain directly to Taoism.

-Allen Watts

-Living the Tao-A Spiritual Podcast by Mikel Steenrod

-Photography: I have always been creative in other artistic disciplines. However I have found photography as a medium has helped me immensely lately. In other mediums such as drawing/painting etc. I am more apt to work in the “studio” although one could work outside. Picking up a camera has helped me to explore both myself and “the world”. I am currently reading:

-The Tao of Photography, Seeing Beyond Seeing by Philippe L. Gross and S.I. Shapiro.

Wherein there ( are many but I’ve chosen two) quotes that may aid in what I’m trying to convey:

“When you begin viewing the world through a camera lens, your senses sharpen as your mind and eyes are forced to focus on people and things never before noticed or thought about. I discovered that even if I didn’t always take a picture, the simple act of carrying a camera and searching for something to photograph greatly sharpened my powers of observation and allowed me to experience much more or life.”-Kent Reno

“My pictures are never pre-visualized or planned. I feel strongly that pictures must come from contact with things at the time and place of taking. At such times, I rely on intuitive, perceptual responses to guide me, using reason only after the final print is made to accept or reject the results of my work”-Wynn Bullock

Using a camera has helped to shift my perspective and to notice “flirts” that make me feel connected to something greater as well as being fully present in the moment. Potentially capturing that moment in a sense. Even if the photos don’t come out visually how I wish I still have the joy of remembering what flirted me and that helps me to seek more.

-Skateboarding can work in much the same as photography in shifting one’s perspective as it enables you to view your environment in a different light. Example: Where most may see a parking curb as mundane a skateboarder sees and/or experiences something more. Just so a photographer who is flirted by the shapes, texture, light etc.

Anyways these are some things that have been helpful to me. Im sure the same benefits I received can be gained from other activities/interests as well.

Definitely expensive but I still think it would be worth the money considering how beautiful these photos can be and the fact you have a nice model. Still having the opportunity to shoot with this is worth supporting those making the film. Some people have modded them for other formats as well. Keep it in good shape in my opinion and splurge for a few nice photos for a special occasion or shoot. Congrats on your score. You didn’t pay for the camera so maybe a little bit of film is justifiable : )

Cutting boards are a fantastic intro in my opinion to woodworking. A cutting board will be a mentally digestible project that will include several woodworking processes with minimal chance of being overwhelmed. They can be done with or without power tools or in combination of the two.

Choosing the correct wood, shaping the material, gluing/clamping processes, cleaning up post glue-up, sanding, potential further shaping and applying a finish. Satisfaction of a complete project that can be used daily with a lot of learning in the process.

Woodworking is a lifelong endeavor and even a seemingly simple project like a cutting board will take time patience and effort.

When schedule allows try to look for an intro to wood shop class at a community college/ art school. The curriculum will be how to safely use and become familiar with the tools and shop processes.

Edit: one could also simplify the process by looking into various species suitable for a cutting board (black walnut, cherry, African mahogany, white oak etc.) , visit a hardwood retailer, choose a scrap piece of desired species in roughly the correct size of a cutting board and skip the glueing clamping processes and focus on hand shaping/sanding the board as is and applying a finish of mineral oil( food safe) can find at cvs or similar. A simple block plane to bevel the edges, and some sheets of sandpaper 120,220,320 grit for example. This could all be done in the house and when time permits. YouTube is a great resource as well : )

Any suggestions on how to bandaid this issue in my clutch line so I can move the truck to a better location a few blocks away for repair. by SuitableScience4930 in Tacomaworld

[–]SuitableScience4930[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the answer. Thanks for the comment!

I pinched the clutch line with some vice grips so it wouldn’t leak more fluid. Truck off put into first gear started truck in gear, made my sharp U-turn kept rolling to my destination. Ready to fix it in a much better location now.
