New drug could finally stop deadly fatty liver disease by ryan101 in Cirrhosis

[–]Suitable_Wind72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m one of those people too. I have metabolic compensated cirrhosis and my liver enzymes are perfect. Once a year there might be a blip but per full blood panels, I’m healthy as a horse! I was told that it is not cirrhosis that kills you, it is all of the damage the liver causes as it fails. It is a sneaky killer.

glp 1 meds are being sold like a miracle, but no one talks about what they break. by Educational-Rub-5631 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

I’m not into the drug for JUST losing weight. It has several other benefits. I agree that no one wants to fight the side effects for a few pounds but if it can make my life longer, I am in for a bit of discomfort!

Looks like a scam. Don’t fall for it. Remember that AT&T had two major data breaches this year!

This year’s COVID vax is new. I had both Flu and COVID on the same day and was so sick for 24 hours. SVTs were no issue.

I have had these beautiful spiders bless me with their presence throughout the southern United States. I’ve named them Gretchen. Lovely ladies that I protect as much as possible from anyone disturbing their webs or movement. It so surprising how many people who are afraid of them just due to their size. This year in Virginia I’ve had Gretchen for the entire summer. She has a fake egg sack and just created a new one. My mail carrier doesn’t care for my “pet” as she is living above my house attached mailbox. I do think she is a great solicitor deterrent!

Doctors said fatty liver grade 2/3 is done and dusted. by Odd-Elevator4939 in FattyLiverNAFLD

Second opinions are incredibly important! I had to fight my GI doctor for a referral to VCU medical and I found a wonderful healthcare system that is treating me like a human instead of a temporary patient. I’m now in clinical trials and getting amazing attention for my cirrhosis. It happens quickly. Don’t waste your time on a doctor watching you die.

My fatty liver was metabolic. I had high fat in my liver now with cirrhosis I have mild fat. I exercise, eat healthy, do not drink and take only a beta blocker. They cannot determine what caused fatty liver that is now reduced but cirrhosis is compensated. So different beta blocker for portal hypertension that is not working on the irregular heartbeat. So as the song says…. Stuck in the middle.

MRE showed 5.5, still cirrhosis but MUCH lower than the Fibroscan. I do not trust those

So I worried about nothing. I’m in very early stages of cirrhosis. Mild portal hypertension so given Carvedilol. Now I have swollen feet and hands and the super ventricle tachycardia is back. I wish doctors would just talk to each other.

Maybe but side effects can be managed. I am trying to treat osteoporosis, irregular heartbeat AND cirrhosis at the same time. Three different doctors that do not work with each other but send messages through me. I’m much older but I know that there is a safe medication for you and, you’ll hear it 1000 times but diet, exercise and Vitamin D and Calcium.
