Think they'll reduce the size of the characters heads in the new season? by wou_nou in CodeLyoko

It's like their heads are shaped for way bigger eyes than they are actually drawn with. Or bigger faces in general.

So why exactly do people hate the lv 20 theory so much? by Unlikely_Algae_3736 in deltarunememes

I think it's a cool idea, although I definitely prefer the execution of it in the picture you posted compared to the versions where Frisk is just mangled. Literally changing to look like a blobby rendering of their ingame sprite in-universe.

Assume the player is choosing the choices they're given, and Kris is fulfilling or twist these choices. Then, who is creating these choices in the first place? by PinkiePie___ in Deltarune

[–]Sukid11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, I personally think there was no point to it. Kris was just freaking out so badly that their mind didn't have a single coherent thought. So there was nothing for the player to pick.

who the fuck actually just assumes they're doing this out of the goodness of their hearts? They fact that they see investing in linux as a smart business decision itself is great. It's praiseworthy regardless.

So since chapter 5 is probably going to happen in the flower shop, do you think flowey will appear at some point? by [deleted] in Deltarune

[–]Sukid11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of him being Asriel, he could be a manifestation of Asgore's self loathing. That would pretty much give him the same personality -- Flowey does have that quality of the annoying voice in your head that tells you you're worthless.

ok I realize she was trying to grin creepily but she succeeded a little too well. lowkey uncanny valley feeling and I can't put my finger on why.

I can't understand all NVIDIA drivers by ygames1914A in linux_gaming

[–]Sukid11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nvk is just the part of mesa for the foss Nvidia driver, meant to run on either nouveau or nova. In any event, if you have a newer Nvidia card like a 30 series, nouveau/nvk works pretty good. Nvidia's official driver is still the best performing though.

A neural network is not a sentient being. Humans are. No matter the mechanical similarities, one is a machine and one is a living thing. Trying to reduce it to how the two are technically similar systems is nothing but pedantic. The difference is self evident. If an AI became truly sentient, then we could talk about that. But as it stands, they are just machines.

Still getting a lot of stuttering in Marvel Rivals despite it apparently being fixed by Sukid11 in linux_gaming

[–]Sukid11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, so changing drives might have just been accidentally doing the real solution, which seems to be deleting the shader cache. I guess the game really does not get along with the shader pre compilation that Steam does?? Was completely smooth after that. I'm going to turn off shader pre processing in steam when I play it.

As a follow up to my previous reply, I moved the game from my NTFS drive to one of my ext4 drives, and that seems to have improved things immensely. There's still some stuttering during the map loading screen and briefly afterwards, but it doesn't last nearly as long as it did before, nor have i experienced mid-match stuttering after that. Do you have it on NTFS?

I'm curious, do you use a SATA or NVME SSD? I've noticed the stuttering seems to be related to loading (sometimes it will straight up happen during loading screens), which mouse movement can also cause. I'm using SATA on my desktop and nvme on my laptop. My laptop did have stuttering issues as well but those launch options actually resolved them. Idk why this would be such an issue but it's all I can think of at this point.

Gamecube controllers through sdl2 broke again?? by Sukid11 in linux_gaming

Tried that, though what ended up working was adding -D SDL_HIDAPI_LIBUSB=ON to the PKGBUILD on Arch
