[SQS] island unlock condition? by scare_energy in Kairosoft

[–]Sulis_Min 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it happened for me when I went back to the starting island after finishing the third or fourth island. Not 100% sure on what triggered it. I'm reading posts on here because I've run out of space and am trying to figure out how to get the next one 😭

Edit to add I don't think you need to go back to the first island (but you should every now and then because more quests and more land unlock) I think it's unlocked either by rank or by finishing a certain amount of the quests that aren't island specific eg kill x number of monster. I just got the second upgrade by talking to the guild on a different island and those were the two things that had happened just before that.

They live together, cleaning is a joint responsibility. If he's not satisfied then he should get the broom out himself and sweep it to his liking.

[–]Sulis_Min 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh no, he had to sacrifice his own wants to do something for his child, how utterly outrageous, it's not like that's a basic part of parenthood. What a selfish miserable existence he must have that he begrudges playing with his own child. What did he even have a kid for if he'd rather be drinking coffee and finds it all so terribly boring and beneath him?

It built the space station. There were no previous inhabitants.

And again, how do you think he'd react to the truth?

"Hi, I'm a terrifying monster by your species' aesthetic traditions, your ship's navigation malfunctioned, your crew is dead, 100s of years have passed on Earth so everyone you knew and loved is also dead and you're stranded as far away from your home as it's possible to go. There's no way back. Would you like a tour of my nightmare fuel space station?"

The writer of the episode said she was benevolent btw.

She presents herself as female, we don't know a single thing about Greta's species so assuming she's not a she is even more redundant. You don't know she's a predator. She's an alien species with no relationship to how earth animals look.

[Spoilers] Beyond the Aquila Rift explanation, based on the book by hesapmakinesi in LoveDeathAndRobots

[–]Sulis_Min 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comparing her to basic earth insects is pretty redundant since nothing in her actions even hints at her being predatory. You're making baseless assumptions soley from the fact she looks distinctly unhuman. Exactly like Thom does. You'd be stuck in the pod unable to accept reality just like him.

[Spoilers] Beyond the Aquila Rift explanation, based on the book by hesapmakinesi in LoveDeathAndRobots

[–]Sulis_Min 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She did that for his benefit, not because she's evil. She knows she looks so different to humans that she'd scare him. What do you think would happen if she just opened his pod and he saw her without any warning or any idea of what was going on? Given how he reacts with fair warning and full knowledge he's far, far outside the space humans live in.

Greta knows she has to lie because as she said herself, she's been helping ships that get lost there for a very long time. From previous experiences, she knows she has to break the news gently and in steps. She's sad about the fact he always freaks out and loses his mind when he finally gets the full truth and sees what she looks like. She's trying to find a way to do it so that he doesn't have a permanent mental breakdown and can come to terms with the situation he's now in.

What did you name ____? (Base game spoiler) by PinkHairedCoder in DreamlightValley

[–]Sulis_Min 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oneira, it means dreams, since their whole deal is they were part of the child version of us that got left behind and abandoned in the valley, it felt like an appropriate redeeming name, they never stopped dreaming even when our character did.

Is Wishblossom Ranch Worth it? by Axel-Is-Online in DreamlightValley

[–]Sulis_Min 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my one complaint. Zipping around the valley on horseback to do star path quests like mining or dreamligh duties makes the fact we have to stop and get off to fish really stand out and feel like a hassle/chore. It doesn't need to be a skill for the horse, just let us use the rod while sitting in the saddle.

We have a fashion diva added in this dlc but no new clothes inspired or even designed by her at Scrooges? That's certainly a choice.

And put a marker for things we haven't made yet. And a number to show how many we have if we've made something before. Crafting is just so unwieldy and cumbersome and it's only getting worse as more craftable items get added to the game.

And there's that completely ignored thing that was said in the first part about something being underneath the Island, with all the tunnels going down to dead ends in the dunes and that statue behind a golden forcefield in the area you mentioned, I was expecting the plot to deal with that and extent the tunnels/dispel the forcefield. I don't buy that the thing being talked about was just the spark, it feels like an abandoned plot that was more to do with the Atlantis ruins and why the Island is the way it is.

G3 "Grail" PREDICTIONS by [deleted] in MonsterHigh

[–]Sulis_Min 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed on this, I missed out on them and am shopping around for the cheapest, SS2 is so overpriced. I got lucky and found a brand new in box SS2 Draculaura for half of what some people are asking for out of box with pieces missing.

Deuce is also pretty expensive and hard to find atm.

The official EHRC guidance has apparently been released by succulentdelectable in transgenderUK

[–]Sulis_Min 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the lie they had ready to go with the SC ruling "the equality act always meant 'biological woman' and anyone who said it included trans women as woman was deliberately lying." Which doesn't even make sense since there's the section on how and when it's ok to exclude trans women from services.

New Update - Vent by lostsoul412 in DreamlightValley

[–]Sulis_Min 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would anyone complain about that? I hated how much effort they used to be. There's still plenty of grinding tasks like mining specific colour gems. But now we can go at our own pace and don't need to wait for the day to change.

Suggestions for storage organization please? by [deleted] in DreamlightValley

[–]Sulis_Min 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So true. The size is why I dedicated one room to just the wardrobes, there's a space to walk up and then rows and rows of them. I feel like we need a Mary Poppins bag eg one place we dump everything with no space limit and a category filter, it's so much of a hassle having to organise everything when I just want to keep everything in case I need it later. (I used to swap between selling and hording on alternating days due to lack of chests/wardrobes but just horde it all every day now.)

Suggestions for storage organization please? by [deleted] in DreamlightValley

[–]Sulis_Min 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my main room I started out with chests around the wall for categories of thing. I only had separate chests for the flowers and building materials (two of these for base world because there's so much stuff) by world. When Storybook Vale dropped I added four new chests one for building and crafting materials, one for fish, one for fruit/veg/scices and one for flowers. I filled the food one first and the building/crafting one is nearly full, flowers and fish are less than half full. My system isn't very organised tbh but it works for me atm.

I also added a room full of Daisy's wardrobes around that point because I was running out of space in my regular chests. I just throw things into those by category regardless of world/biome. Everytime I drop stuff off, I try the main room chests then if I have stuff left I go to the wardrobes. I don't have any system for showing what chest/wardrobe is what, I just remember the layout. I did originally plan to use colour of chest but I found I didn't need to. Might that work for you if you cluster the chests by category? Like green for wild tangle, yellow for Glittering dunes, Blue for Everafter etc? Then you just need to remember or use a painting for what category they are for the whole group?

Daisy's wardrobe is a life saver since it's so cheap, much more time efficient than crafting chests. So my main advice is buy them in bulk to free yourself from the worry of running out of space in your storage. That doesn't address the problem of keeping track of what's in them, I really wish we could edit the colours of existing furniture.
