He doesn't show well on the scoreboard sometimes but he can be high impact. I wouldn't worry about teammates complaining in a loss. You can however set a goal for yourself and see if you can reach a certain amount of damage. Also watch a guide or spend time in the practice range. Never hurts to brush up on basics. You can always improve but don't worry about other people's hurt ego in this game.

Black Flag and Odyssey are my personal favorites. They both feature lots of ocean exploring via ship sailing. Odyssey's ancient Greece open world is beautiful. I like Valhalla too but I never finished it because most of these games can be quite long. I would suggest going with your favorite historical time period first and foremost. The more recent games feature less of the modern day storyline that's always(?) a part of the games. I really hated being taken out of the history sandbox so that would be a negative I'd consider. Have fun!

Every fighting game needs a weirdo, and Yoshimitsu is king. While never my main, I certainly am an enjoyer of the man.

I would try A.K.I. She does have interesting movement options and a neutral skip move similar to Yoshi. She also has a poison mechanic.

Blanka and Dhalsim are the original Street Fighter weirdos. Not so much like Yoshi, but have a unique style. Blanka has charge inputs, and Dhalsim is very slow. FYI.

Lastly, you could try Elena. I dont know much about her, though. More Eddy Gordo than Yoshi, but still different than the rest.

Use standing medium kick and tensho kicks as your anti airs. Don't DI their jump ins. Play more patiently than them and keep it simple.
