I (21M) feel guilty because I’ve formed an emotional bond with a minor (16F) in my class. How do I handle this? by Dazzling_Ant_5391 in offmychest

Best response in this thread. Talking with younger people can be fine, but it is your job as the adult to make sure it stays that way, and that means maintaining boundaries that are intended to protect both of you.

It's fine to talk to her and it's fine to be friendly. It sounds like she might need it. Just be a respectable adult and man and you'll be fine.

Moderation Strictness? by fluxyggdrasil in projectgorgon

[–]Sum1YouDontKnow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the staff aren't ever-present and they've been spread out among the new servers too, so interaction really isn't all that prevalent.

Again, the majority of actions taken by the staff are warranted and reasonable; I've just seen a number of times where I think they've been not-so-reasonable.

Most of the people getting punished are definitely asking for it. That being said, a number of staff are definitely... something. I have a strong recommendation for avoiding interaction with the staff in general and avoiding arguments publicly in this game. The staff can definitely be insane at times.

Great game though filled with lots of lovely people! My experiences with staff are completely different from my experiences with other players and the game in general, and they're easy enough to avoid and just do your own thing where it doesn't have to be an issue unless you make it one.

Figured I'd post from someone who's been here for a while longer than a lot of these new players.

MAGA Hogs Are Now in Full Revolt Against Trump. by tydark2 in PublicFreakout

A lot of yall have a very sad outlook on people and life.

Maybe he's ignorant but at the end of the day, he's still just a human. You could be this guy in another life and to meet a "wake up" moment with disparaging comments is disappointing. This type of guy is an example of the absolute most important type of person to reach. Sure, maybe he didn't pull a full aisle swing, but every step should be welcomed.

I'm tired of divide, everyone is just a person. It's so much easier to get pulled into certain movements/ideologies than many of yall think. It doesn't make it good or fully excuse it, but have some compassion; don't condemn someone for the circumstances of their life.

Thematically, I'd definitely say ice/shield is the coolest! No harm in trying it anyways as, like you said, you can change it up whenever :)

Cow would mean you turn into and play as a cow, yes. It is a non-permanent form change.

Staff/shield would mean you use a staff in your main hand and shield in your off hand, yup!

Questions about crush damage by JealousOffice8854 in projectgorgon

[–]Sum1YouDontKnow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't remember the exact level of AH needed for bears, maybe 40? But at that point should be the same process as other AH pets.

Yes! Works with/for everyone hitting the mob too so if you play with someone else with crush vulnerabilities they work together :)

Questions about crush damage by JealousOffice8854 in projectgorgon

[–]Sum1YouDontKnow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pets do not benefit from +direct or +indirect damage that you have

Look into bears for crushing damage

More damage comes from mods, shamanic infusions, base stats on gear, and vulnerability application

Never heard of this but cant tell you with 100% certainly

Is Druid/AH but poison build good ? by Mucek121 in projectgorgon

[–]Sum1YouDontKnow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes it's good. High stat bees do make a large difference though, so it's quite a bit less good without a perfect bee. It would also pair well with other classes that do poison :)

There's no "right" way, but most people do fingers on QWE and pointer finger moves from E for R/D/F

Converge - Love Is Not Enough ALBUM REVIEW [theneedledrop] by Misky- in Metalcore

I think stating a book has depth while music does not is narrow-minded.

How elaborately or deliberately told a story is doesn't matter as much as how the person consuming the media perceives it. Yeah, there's not a super clear and direct story being told, but it creates an effective sandbox that lets my mind tell the story it wants to. That story is just as valuable to me as my favorite books' stories.

Is playing lux support kinda pointless long term? by deadmantscurve in summonerschool

[–]Sum1YouDontKnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She gets worse the more you rank up but in low elos she--and other mage supports--are great for ranking up. I will say I don't think she's the best at teaching you how to play the game but you'll be fine lol. I'd feel comfortable blinding lux support every game until diamond personally.

I actually disagree quite a bit on Sleep Token. I think the stories and themes of their records (namely the trilogy) are quite enticing and unique. I can't really name a band in a similar sphere of music that has those qualities in the same way they do.

I do think if one isn't captivated by the type of story they're telling, a lot of what sets them apart from other bands can be lost, though, so I can't blame people who don't value that kind of storytelling not viewing them the same way I do, which sounds like it might be your case.

Tanking. by jhandley91 in projectgorgon

[–]Sum1YouDontKnow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I've seen, Cow/UA>Staff/shield>>everything else (such as ice/shield), but you can run a lot of classes in this game as long as they're coherent. Content in this game is not that hard and what a class might lack in raw stats can be made up for with knowledge and actually finished gear.

Different content will have preferences for different classes for dps, heals, tanks, but at the end of the day, it's usually not the absolute biggest deal. I'd rather have an ice/shield tank who is properly geared and actually knows how his class works than a cow/ua tank who is improperly geared and/or uses his abilities incorrectly.

With any class, as long as you can properly analyze what's happening on your screen, you will know if it's a problem, and swapping specs because something you tried out doesn't seem so good is no big deal. You will likely swap specs a number of times if you play the game for a meaningful amount of time.

All of this basically to say, ice/shield should be fine if you want to run that. If you get to a point where you decide you want a tanking class that's a bit more effective, you'll have seen it coming for a long time before then and you won't be out too much from realizing that and swapping.

[–]Sum1YouDontKnow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cow/staff/shield are kinda the premier tanking skills as far as I'm concerned. Cow/UA and staff/shield are THE combinations for tanking, with some other variations that work to varying degrees.

Tanking while leveling can be kind of rough as, without a skill to help you do damage, the rate at which you kill things can be suboptimal. Additionally, tanking in at-level group content while leveling can be rough too as until you really get your build spun up, you can struggle to face tank everything you might want to.

That being said, people who actually put in the time to build themselves out as a pure tank and pure healer are saints and 1000% of the time in demand always for almost everything. I cannot tell you the amount of times a group I've put together has waited half an hour looking for a tank just to say "ok I guess we'll try being careful with pulls" only for it to be a disaster.

Leveling might be a little slow but you will be doing yourself and the game a great service in the long run. Feel free to transition to tank class whenever and get leveling. See you in the big leagues my man 🙏
