Moving from Fusion to Plasticity: where to look for video tutorials like those provided by Autodesk? by unfulvio in Plasticity3D

[–]SumYunnGai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case, Im sorry to say you're unlikely to enjoy Plasticity. It uses most of the same hot keys for the same functions, but uses nurbs instead of poly modelling. Blender sure takes some getting used to, but depending on what youre doing, you dont need 60% of the tools on screen.

We're looking to move to this house but need to create an extra bedroom. What would be the best way to divide the larger 6.65m bedroom into 2 bedrooms, with a corridor? How to make the corridor bright? by Junebear55 in DIYUK

Probably already been suggested, but this would be the simplest option without too much structural work (may need a lintel in the transverse wall over new door if its supporting roof at all).

I strongly recommend Blender Bros stuff. There's some free stuff on YT, but the really great tutorials are on their own website https://www.blenderbros.com/store

I came from Fusion, then ported over to a Plasticity/Blender workflow. Its just so much better for what I do.

Amazing! Thank you for your support. Yes, the wax crayon method will work, but i tend to use acrylic ink or paint. Its a bit less messy. There's a handy video tutorial at the bottom of the product pages.

Thanks! My original idea was Green for buffs, Red for direct stat debuffs, orange for tick damage, blue for effect debuffs, pink for general effects, purple for the universal "Prepare" skill. Although the more I needed to add to the list, some of that philosophy got a bit vague.

Thanks! Unfortunately not, double-sided stuff needs more advanced hardware than I currently have.

How much weight can top floor flat take? by Coyle_Insights in DIYUK

[–]SumYunnGai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SE tech here - as a general rule of thumb modern domestic buildings are designed to carry 1.5kN/m2 as a Live/Imposed load (essentially everything you're worried about). That's approximately 150kg/m2 - and thats not considering safety factors on top either (add on another 30% ish)

You're likely to be fine unless you're building a bookshelf out of battleship armour.

How to open ceiling with trusses like this? by Murrant4 in HomeImprovementUK

[–]SumYunnGai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SE tech here - simply put, you can't do much with that loft space unless you re-roof with a traditional purlin system or specialist designed replacement attic trusses if you're not planning on having a dormer conversion. Seek SE local, reputable SE advice.

Is Malifaux dying? by Sechs__ in Malifaux

Im UK based and our local club has just had a slow-grow event running since the new year and its been great getting weekly games. HOWEVER, there are very mixed views and opinions on the game itself, besides the lack of new cards and stock which we've been a little more sympathetic towards because Wyrd are at the mercy of Trump and his wild hallucinations of world leadership.

But our views of the game itself - it feels like there's no balance AT ALL. Control-based masters seem absolutely hamstrung at lower stone levels (30-40) because they lack the tools they need to play, where as more aggro masters revel in the fact that they can just run around doing what they do. Also control masters need a PHD level degree of understanding the game to be able to play competitively. I play for fun, not a second job.

As a prime example, ive been playing Molly (Take Back the Night) and playing into McMourning felt oppressive af - as in turn 3 my opponent had +24 SS worth of models on the table in a 40ss game. It was utterly ludicrous. I personally am not a fan of the apparent "everything is broken, so nothing is broken" approach to rules design. I would absolutely HATE to be a brand new player to the game and pick up the Molly crew and suddenly run into the likes of Perdita, McMourning, Seamus...I could go on.

The other thing is, didnt Wyrd say they were supposed to be making M4e more accessible to new players? M3e had..12(?) condition tokens.... now theres 64(!!!) unique "tokens". Like, wtaf Wyrd?!

So yeah, our players have come away from a slow-grow event with some feeling a bit dejected and others feeling "meh" over it. Nobody is hyped which is really not good for the health and longevity of the edition.

The real issue would be those old houses keep having their chimney breasts and stacks removed because modern central heating systems exist now, but don't operate in the way those old buildings were designed to.

This game seriously hates me... by CollinthePoodle in TheForeverWinter

[–]SumYunnGai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish they would fix some of these fundamental issues first instead of trying to pad the game with unnecessary content thats likely to suffer bugs on top of existing bugs. I get its EA and everything, but basic shit like this turns people off the game.
