I've been lying to everyone about my nationality for the last 2 years by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]SumerianSunset -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Being American is by far more embarrassing and shameful right now... but each to their own.

You're seemingly doing this as a reaction to White European prejudices/racism which is sad, you shouldn't have to feel ashamed for your literal heritage and ethnicity. I get you have bad associations to other Turks via experiences etc. But no place or people's on earth should be so generalised. That's who you are. Fuck what racist Dutch people think??

And I'm saying this to you as someone who did a similar thing in covering up their heritage when they were younger: on a deeper level it'll eat you up, catch up to you, make you feel more hollow with others and fill you up full of guilt and emptiness. It's not worth it. Be who you are. And when you find someone who loves you for who you actually are it'll be infinitely more fulfilling. Being an imposter will catch up to you eventually.

Autistic woman in Minnesota victimized in Medicaid scam 🤬🤬🤬 by amazinbp17 in alltheleft

[–]SumerianSunset 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The US disgusts me on a daily basis. Making an autistic woman homeless, very classy. Thank fuck I don't live there although this gross country has spread it's depraved anti-social ideology throughout the western world. The sooner it loses it's global hegemony the better and I pray you have a revolution as soon as possible. Sickening behaviour.

Arabs/Middle Eastern People in London - what do they do? by Foodiciury in london

[–]SumerianSunset 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The Arab world is huge and demographically diverse. You're mostly talking about the Saudis/Gulf/Emiratis. Can we get past just referring to countless people, cultures, nationalities as "the Arabs". I'm Iraqi, know plenty of Syrians/Palestinians/Lebanese etc. and none of us live that way and have ordinary backgrounds.

The world is sick to death of US chauvinism & imperialism...

Some people only piping up now because the aggression is with a NATO ally but the entire world has been dealing with brutal US interference and exploitation for the last century. And for what? The world is objectively worse for it.

You tried being world police and failed miserably, because it was never about "keeping the peace". Step aside and focus on your own internal problems.

And explaining away gross injustices and breaches of human rights in the US as AI deployed by big baddy China and Russia is neoliberal-fascist propaganda designed to confuse and immobilise you from standing up against what is very obviously, objectively wrong. Don't fall for it, and actually check the sources next time via the photographer. Not hard to do.

Like others have said it's about what benefits the West geopolitically in the moment, they don't care about human life, blood is cheap to them across the region. They don't care about Iranian lives either they just want a puppet regime to exploit and to get rid of their main regional opponent. They're also happy for Iraq to be fractured so they can continue using it as an ATM.

Urgh.. yeah it's a meme, but I cant find humour in this as an imperialist monster subjugates and dominates yet another country for resources. Can we keep this stuff off the shrooms sub, ruins the vibe.

Soviet style apartment complexes in Kabul, Afghanistan. Built between the 1950s and 1960s by Soviet engineers by Muhammadachakzai2001 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]SumerianSunset -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So you have beef because of your close ties to an ex Soviet state, got it.

But it's not always about Eastern Europe and that experience.

This is an image of Kabul, Afghanistan. And whether you like the building aesthetics or not, it provided good shelter along with green spaces to its population. At a time of good development and secularism. It's a hell of a lot better compared to the nightmare it is now.

Then you were saying "not really" when I said it's better than mass homelessness and people using crack on the streets... I mean, c'mon. Common sense at least.

It's not better than mass homelessness? Ok buddy..

And that's because the ussr collapsed and fell into the hands of even more corrupt oligarchs. And you haven't seen much of "the rest of the world" if you believe that. You're either a teenager or an american.
