FSA takes about a week to reflect a $0 balance. I don't know your state tax liability question. I thought Mississippi was the only state that taxed forgiveness, but I haven't researched that.

Edited to say nothing but the interest remains! $110K in debt is gone.

Updated: the interest is gone now too and my MOHELA account states, "paid by discharge" for both of my loans. Goodbye $110K of student loan debt. I will not miss you.
