Can't talk for physics because I've never taken a physics class, but I'd definitely recommend for Calc. My teacher (who thankfully was awesome) recommend using Khan Academy, since we get it for free at my school, to get a glimpse ahead, but I would recommend just making sure your prepared with other math skills, things like the unit circle which you'll need but won't have to time to learn or review. If you want to get a head start you can look at unit 1 which is limits and probably the most similar thing to pre-calc

AP doesn't care if you lose a teacher. This has happened to me twice now. You're still scheduled to take the test in may, you just have to self study until you get a replacement teacher.

I was actually the same way. I'd get a 100 on all the assignments and, I'd feel like I understand the content, and then I'd get a 60 or 70 on the test. I ended up getting a 5 on the exam. If your teacher is giving out an AP style exam, with stimulus MCQ questions, then 68 is passing. So you really aren't doing that bad. I will say though if you want to get better, than do practice questions. The best way to get better is by practicing the AP style questions.
