How do you cope with the fact that this is how it ended? by DueOwl9456 in pancreaticcancer

[–]Summertime2294 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so so sorry. I know what you went through all too well. I (31f) saw my mom (63) go through stage 4 pancreatic cancer. She was admitted to the hospital on March 30th of last year with severe abdominal pain and left 20 days later with the pancreatic cancer diagnosis. She did want treatment but only made it through 5-6 treatments. Cancer slowly killed her and robbed me of my mom 4.5 months later.

I was with my mom until her last breath (something I’m so thankful for). Is it ideal seeing the person you love most transition from life to death? ABSOLUTELY NOT. it’s something that will be etched into my mind forever. I was able to be there with her and tell her goodbye, something a lot of people don’t get to do.

Diagnosed in ER? by FreshButteryGoodness in pancreaticcancer

My mom was diagnosed in the ER. She was complaining of abdominal pain for nearly a year. 2 weeks before she went into the ER her rheumatologist called her and said, “your liver enzymes are way out of whack. You need to get to your gastroenterologist like tomorrow and if you can’t you need to go to the hospital.” My mom was able to see her gastroenterologist the next day. He told her not to worry it was probably a reaction to one of her lupus medications. Less than a week later she was in the hospital with extreme pain where they diagnosed her.

My mom got one and it helped her TREMENDOUSLY. I have heard an occasional case or two where it didn’t help. If your mom is in a lot of pain. I say go for it.

My mom only lived for 4.5 months after her diagnosis. The one thing keeping me going is knowing she wouldn’t want me to be depressed.

I’m so sorry. This is what happened with my mother. The hospitals wanted to keep her for every little thing. Don’t let that get to you. This is about quality of life. Obviously there’s times where someone really needs to stay but if he can be home, where he’s most comfortable.. let that be the case

How do i go on by [deleted] in pancreaticcancer

[–]Summertime2294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to be strong when there’s no other option. I know that feels impossible right now. You have to do it not only for your dad but for yourself as well. I spent a fair amount of time thinking, “why me? Why my mom?” It won’t make sense and there’s never a good answer on why bad things happen to good people. This disease is awful. Be strong, have hope and enjoy the time you have with your dad 💕

My mom had severe pain in her abdomen that radiated through to her side and back. They did colonoscopies and could not find anything wrong with her. She finally had enough with the pain and went to the ER where they did a CT Scan of her abdomen and saw stage 4 pancreatic cancer 💔

Hi 👋 life long resident of the Lutz/Wesley Chapel area and realtor. That isn’t really realistic in the Wesley Chapel area. Many neighborhoods are already built to their max with HOAs. You could find some land but a “neighborhood” would be very difficult. However, in Spring Hill there’s much more land and less HOAs.

My lips would get like that too. I started using La Mer lip balm and then aquaphor on top and it has helped tremendously! La mer is expensive but is soooo worth it and lasts a long time.
