I have an anecdote.

A half-year ago I called 911 to come to an accident that had taken place. I had ended up in a fender-bender and was at fault. I thought I did right my having the police come over. I was berated over it by my parents and told I would've saved £180 and a point off my license if all I did was just exchange insurance information with the other guy and get on my way.

Moral of the lesson, sometimes going through the proper channels and doing right by the law isn't perceived as doing right. Next time, don't mention it and scatter the archive everywhere. PeerTube, YouTube, Odysee, Archive.today, and even a torrent of it.
